| Player |
Explanation of Pick |
| Trent Williams | Hasselbeck must be protected better. Jones is aging and is not as effective. Seattle has some weapons, and Bulaga will help give him more time to find them. | | Gerald McCoy | Best player available. Pete Carroll likes quick DTs (Sedrick Ellis, Mike Patterson) and McCoy fits the bill. | | Trent Williams | The Seahawks have two big picks in this years draft. And with some major offensive struggles, they are going to want to take a skill player with at least one of those picks. I don't think Pete Carroll can stay away from Spiller, he is one of the most dynamic players in the draft and can fit in great with Seattle. | | Russell Okung | They need players everywhere and probably need other positions more desperatlely than DT, but they can't pass on the value and it never hurts to add players on the D-line. | | Russell Okung | Seattle will waste very little time taking Okung, he is probably the #1 player on their board, well behind Suh and McCoy. So actually maybe more like 2 or 3. They are ecstatic to have him fall into their lap at #6. | | Russell Okung | The Seahawks laugh all the way to the bank with this pick. They get the highest rated Tackle in the draft and fill a big position of need. Walter Jones is going to retire anytime now and they need to protect Matt's Hassle Back to avoid another injury. | | Trent Williams | Berry was a serious consideration at this pick, but IMO getting the best 4-3 rusher in the draft, especially after meeting with him, Seahawks take DM. | | Eric Berry | Update: Confident in Brown at 2nd 1st pick, they go still w best D player on board. Berry is that at true pos of need.
Walter Jones is done and they absolutely need to help a terrible OL. But the way the board has broken they will likely be able to do something at pick 14. McCoy may be a top 3 talent, so this is an easy call to pick him having fallen to 6. They got old in DL, OL, and DB due to their poor drafting over the last few years. | | Trent Williams | If not taken at the 2 spot, will fall | | Eric Berry | With two top 15 picks in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Seahawks main need is on their offensive line, but with this years class of lineman, the 14th pick for a offensive lineman could turn out to be just as good as a #6 overall offensive lineman, so look for first year coach Pete Carroll to grab the best overall defensive back in the draft in Eric Berry. Berry is a versatile player who can spread the field and he has the hands of a wide receiver. He will fill a huge hole in Seattle's weak secondary. |
Data for this analysis is from the members in the
Mock draft challenge. Only the drafts which have been updated in the
last two weeks are used.
