Explanation of Pick |
| Eric Berry | With Okung gone, KC has some options. But its too high for Bryant or Haden. Berry is a superior talent and athlete who can make plays. He should help out the defense immediately. Bulaga is option B. | | Trent Williams | The Chiefs should be happy to get Williams. They need a tackle and can warm him up at right tackle until they decide to move Brandon Albert inside. | | Eric Berry | Even though the Chiefs have focused on improving their defense a lot lately, they still have one of the worst defenses in the league. They are definitely lacking a powerful player in their secondary, and Berry is that player. If they decide not to go with their secondary, another weak spot is the offensive line. | | Eric Berry | Errk Burry, as Mayock calls him. KC gets the benefit of the doubt even though Pioli doesn't deserve it. Berry is the best player in the draft and arguably the best safety prospect ever. He hits like a truck and runs like a deer and even though they need a tackle they wait until rounds two or three. | | Russell Okung | Cassell only has 1 year left on his deal. Clausen is better than Cassell and already knows Wies' offense. | | Eric Berry | He may be the most for sure prospect in the draft in my opinion, him and Suh. Unless the Chiefs can find a possible trade back opportunity, Berry will more than likely be the pick. But with Okung on the board, they could go that option also. | | Eric Berry | KC need help everywhere, so they go for a defensive player that can play defense and put points on the board. The haven't had a game changing DB for a long time and now they get one that many say is the next Ed Reed. Okung is a possability but Berry is just too good to pass on. | | Bryan Bulaga | Pioli placed emphasis on certain position. Left tackle is a primary position and at this point Okung is BPA. | | Russell Okung | Update: Okung since not taken at 2.
KC will upgrade 2 spots in their line w this pick, LT w Okung, and wherever they shift Albert, whom was never suited to be a LT in the NFL. | | Bryan Bulaga | Just like Washington, I'm sure Kansas City will wait until the very last minute as they are desperate to try to trade down as well. But with no willing participants to trade up into the top 5, Kansas City will take Bulaga with the 5th overall pick, which helps solve two problems on the offensive line. They can put Bulaga on the left tackle position where former first rounder Branden Albert played and move Albert to the right side where he is more comfortable playing. |
