Recent Selections / Explanations for pick 21 |
| Player |
Explanation of Pick |
| Jermaine Gresham | The Bengals need a red zone / 3rd down receiver. They lost houshmandzadeh and need a replacement. They've also needed a TE for a while, and having Gresham slip this far is a nice present for them. a college knee surgery isn't a career ender (Munoz), so if he checks out, he'll be the pick. | | Derrick Morgan | While the Bengals had a very good balanced defense last year, they are still lacking a big playmaker that can solidify their team. Without a consistently great player, they could crumble at any time. | | Jermaine Gresham | Ocho has maybe two more years as an elite receiver and there's not much behind that. Demarius probably won;t do much as a rookie but in the long run will be the best receiver in the draft. Think Andre Johnson. | | Dez Bryant | Will more than likely go earlier, but if he last until here, this will be the Bengals pick. A top 10 talent, but with people over criticizing his off the field problems he drops severely. | | Jermaine Gresham | A need pick but one that may benefit the offensive production as a whole. Gresham will take some attention away from Ocho and the other WR's. He a great player that is coming off a season ending injury. He would have been a top 10 player had he come out last year. | | Jermaine Gresham | Bengals have not been a team to worry about charachter issues. They have also had Bryant visit and considered signing both A.Bryant and T.Owens. If charachter issues are no concern this is a TOP 5 pick at #21. | | Earl Thomas | Cincy could go w Iupati here, but they have drafted 1st rd OL enough recently. They should help their CBs w a stud S. Thomas is the best player available making it easier for them to draft him here. | | Jermaine Gresham | Gresham could have been a top 10 overall pick had he came out last year, but the injury to his knee hurt his value. With that being said, Cincinnati lacks that big time tight end who can catch and block. They lost out in the Tony Scheffler sweepstakes so grabbing Gresham here is their best bet. | | Jermaine Gresham | The Bengals seem to be targeting Gresham, who could be a dangerous threat at TE which they have been lacking . | | Jermaine Gresham | Bengals simply need play makers. I wouldn't be shocked to see NE trade up for this guy. |
