Explanation of Pick |
| Demaryius Thomas | This is a tough call. They could either go O-line with Brown or Iupati, LB with Witherspoon, or my choice. I think the reason that Arizona didn't go for McNabb is because they want to take a recharge year. A good team going 7-9 or 8-8 and then trying to go deep the next year (Packers 2 years ago, Eagles this year are in the same boat this year). They're going to get linemen and linebackers in later rounds, but they lost Anquan Boldin, and Thomas has a boatload of potential. Remember, the receivers were a big part of Arizona's offense, and I think with his talent at this pick, the Cardinals are going to take him. | | Daryl Washington | The Cardinals are looking for a way to replace all of the bigtime players that they lost over the offseason. They covered Antrel Rolle with Kerry Rhodes, Matt Leinart will be replacing Kurt Warner, and Steve Breaston should be good enough to step in for Anquan Boldin. Now they just need to replace the core of their defense, Karlos Dansby. | | Dan Williams | Arizona needs a lot after being pillaged in the off season. They could also go Tackle, Safety, MLB, or even QB, but instead take another DT. | | Sean Weatherspoon | Lost Dansby, Weatherspoon comes in and replaces him and they defense doesn't miss a beat. | | Bruce Campbell | LB is a big need here but Weatherspoon doesn't fit the scheme. Bruce Campbell AKA Project Freak will replace Gandy once he leaves. He's big, long arms, and incredibly fast for a man his size. The Cards just hope he pans out. | | Jerry Hughes | Last year they had Okeafor and Hagans, Kindle would be massive upgrade. They do need to replace Dansby but no one of value here. I would take Cody considering they are up against 49ers & Gore, Rams & S.Jackson and the Seahawks with A.Gibbs. | | Kareem Jackson | AZ has a lot of needs after an Exodus of talent. They have needs at CB, TE, LB, DE & S. So maybe the best available of all these positions. I think CB is the greatest of their needs so this may make the most sense. This is a very variable pick. | | Brandon Graham | With Karlos Dansby now in Miami, the Cardinals have a need at linebacker and Brandon Graham is the next best linebacker in the draft. Graham can play linebacker or defensive end. In the Cardinals' 3-4 package Graham could line up at strong-side outside linebacker. | | Sergio Kindle | Kindle has all the tools to be a Brian Orakpo type pass rusher. | | Bruce Campbell | Cardinals need to protect Leinart in order to accurately evaluate if he can be their guy or not. |
