Pros: Versatility. Has experience at the safety spot. Height, with today's big receiver he can match well in the secondary. Good hands for a corner and can make plays. Good speed and athletic ability for large corner.
Cons: Injury liability! Too many injuries every year (Shoulder ACL,etc). Leads with head down when tackling. Easily baited with play action and looks too much in the backfield. Gives up too many deep balls which is a no no at this position. Has problems with smaller, faster receivers as seen in senior day practice.
Overall: Could switch to free safety and be nice edition. Like most corners, he tends to think he is better than he really is. He will be drafted at the highest early to mid 3rd round and the latest in the 5th. Good for any team needing depth. If he can learn how to tackle properly, stay with the receiver and not get sucked into the backfield during play action he can be a good player in the NFL.
Pros: Pass Coverage, Tackling Ability, Hard Hitting Corner, Run Coverage, Hands
Cons: Too agressive, Penalties tend to build up, ego problem?
Overall: Thomas really showed up his junior season and clearly showed he is the top corner at USC. He may be the best pure coverage corner coming out of the draft. He is a corner who can put a hit on you but sometimes tends to play too agressive. Terrell Thomas's shutdown Corner potential should not stray far from the middle of round one.
