Pros: Tavares is an physical and athletic marvel. This is a guy who started with John Beason (Ravens) and Rocky McIntosh (Redskins) over the last year. He led the Hurricanes stalwart defense in tackles this past year and is literally all over the field. He speed and strength are at the top of the statistic charts for an NFL linebacker, and he has great football instincts.
Cons:
Overall: Tavares should be a first round pick, but has gone largely unoticed due to a poor Hurricane season, even though he led the team in tackles. If he stays under the radar screen and slips to the second round, he will be a steal for any team, as Tavares' career will certainly follow the great Hurricanes linebackers of the past few years: Vilman, DJ Williams, McIntosh, and Beason - and his athleticism actually surpasses these guys.
