Matthew Stafford
Scouting Report by Raj |
| Pros: Stafford has all the tools that NFL scouts look for in a franchise signal caller. Good size, athleticism, accuracy, mechanics, but the things that separates him from the others is his rocket-arm. Has the ability to make any throw on the field. Also, he dealt with a lot of adversity behind center at Georgia because he played behind an average offensive line, and still, he put up good numbers and improved his TD-INT ratio from years past. |
| Cons: At times, with his tremendous arm strength forces some throws that results in interceptions. Many say that his abilities never really matched the level of his production (took 27 starts to get his first 300 yard passing game). Could benefit from staying another year to improve his consistency and completion percentage. |
| Overall: Has nearly three years of experience in SEC in a pro-style offense that will help him immensely in his transition to the NFL. Reminds me of a Jay Cutler type prospect, with his tremendous arm strength. The bottom line is Stafford is the most NFL ready quarterback in this years pool. Projects to be a top-5 pick, maybe even the top selection overall. |

Matthew Stafford
Scouting Report by Jerry |
| Pros: Stafford is a very good athlete with a huge arm. He makes those throws that just put people in awe. He has 3 years of starting experience in the SEC and in a Pro Style offense. He throws a great deep ball and knows how to throw balls to the back and corner of the endzone. Very NFL ready with excellent mechanics. |
| Cons: Decision making is inconsistent at best. He forces throws and will get over confident with his arm. He also seems to try to over compensate in pressure situations which will lead to bad throws and ints. Doesn't always set his feet when throwing the Football and struggles with touch on short routes. |
| Overall: Stafford's upside makes him a top 5 pick. However, if he didn't have his huge arm, we'd probably not be talking about him before the 4th to 5th round. Stafford is a big risk especially for a rebuilding team and has bust written all over him. People compare him to Cutler which is a solid comparison but Cutler saw the field better coming out of college and Cutler very much benefitted from a good Broncos offense around him. Stafford will most likely not have the same luxury. |

|
| Pros: Matthew Stafford has the strongest arm in college. He can make incredible NFL quality passes. He has all the ability in the world. He has the potential to be a great NFL QB. Plus he is pretty fast, but people don't relize it because he doesn't run it very often. He can stay in the pocket under pressure and still deliver a great pass. If he has to he can get outside the pocket and throw it. |
| Cons: Matthew doesn't have too many cons. One of his problems is that sometimes he will make bad decisions. He will sometimes try and throw it in double coverage, but as he has grown older he has started getting better and better at making decisions. He will soon stop making those stupid decisions. |
| Overall: Overall I would rate him as an "A" |

Matthew Stafford
Scouting Report by jack |
| Pros: Rare, John Elway type of arm. Very accurate when footwork is proper and feet are in the right place. Has experience in a pro style offense. Underestimated mobility and aheleticism. Has a strong thick build and has started to become a more outspoken leader |
| Cons: Must improve footwork as it effects accuarcy. Makes erratic decision at times, especially in pressure. Very young and should have stay at uga another year. A little shorter then preferred. |
| Overall: Simply put a quarterback yet to play up to his physical abtributes and potential he is going to need some time to improve his footwork and game management but can be anything he wants to be |
|
|
| Pros: Has a great arm and he has great size for the NFL. He has great physical qualities and he has been in many games for his career. |
| Cons: He might not have the best mental qualities he has many bad games when he gets pressured. |
| Overall: Great arm and size and physical qualities are off the chart. Mental qualities might keep him from getting better. |
