Pros: Shows alot of awareness in the pocket, for a scrambler.
Has alot of touch on deep balls.
Didn't have a supporting cast at K-State.
Has the speed to be a dual-threat at times.
Cons: Consistency with intermediate to long-range throws.
Overall: I'm not sold on his arm. Only because if his arm doesn't work out, he won't be a Antwaan Randle El because of his speed. Alot of people think that he'll be the next Tarvaris Jackson, but I don't buy all the hype. He has a decent arm throwing short to medium range balls, also has a strong arm.
Pros: Level headed signal caller w/ a calm demeanor under center. Deliberate, crisp, and confident mechanics no matter the situation. Garners the confidence of his teammates with above average accuracy and careful ball handling. Strong arm and despite huge frame is more than capable of escaping the pocket for key yds.
Cons: At times very locked in on a first option vs next read. Perhaps not a strong vocal leader and personality lacks fire and drive externally at least. Big game performances left much to be desired as ball protection suffered. Seemed to be somewhat unchallenged by the prospect of temporarily playing in college.
Overall: I like the upside on Freeman. My impression was this was not a college kid preparing for NFL. This was an NFL trained athlete making a "Required" stop in NCAA for some necessary credibility building. I project this QB as a "wow, why did we pass on him" guy in 4 years or less. The NFL will be his comfort zone.
