Pros:
Not a true burner but very fast for his size. only top back with decent size. He can move the pile and can turn the corner. He is a pretty good pass catcher and can run back kicks if needed. He doesn't go down with arm tackles and uses his legs to get extra yardage when he hits the pile.
Cons: Not very many cons on Stewart, he will run a little high at times and is a little impaitent waiting for holes to develope. Will drop a pass trying to run before he has the ball at times
Overall: It is my opinion Jonathan Stwart could turn out to be the best RB in the draft if he gets taken by the right team. This might not happen don't be surprised if Atlanta doesn't trade it's two second round picks to move up to get him if they go QB with their first pick as they need a big back to go with speed back Norwood
Pros: His attitude is his biggest ali, he has no baggage. He has 4.3 speed in the 40. You will see him in the combine and he will impress you, more than you can believe. He has great balance. He has the power to run through people or the speed to run around you. He has great field vision. He's a tough young man.
Cons: Maybe a couple of injury's, which happen in football.
Overall: I have watched this young man in High school, Yes he Holds the all time rushing record in Washington state History of 7,755 yards. This is probably something no one knows except someone that was watching him in high school and that is because timberline high school was so far ahead in its reagular league games that Jonathan normally only ran the ball in the first half. If he ran the ball all four quarters, that 7755 yards could easily have been 14,000 yards.
Jonathan also played for Oregon, which really was not an offence that was formed around him. It was a quarterbacks offence. Jonathan had 1722 yds on 280 carries in 13 games avg. 6.2 yds per carry, thats 45 less carries than Darren Mcfadden in 13 games. Jonathan could easily of had over 2000 yards. Jonathan is a pro style running back. He is a great running back, and I wouldn't hesitate in drafting him in the top 5. The question? That everyone has is his ability to stay healthy all year. He is as strong as any running back in the college ranks, as you will see in the NFL combine.
Pros: Team player, extremely strong and able to translate that strength on the football field. Very good straight away speed, balance and blocking. Possess good vision and lateral ability.
Cons: Durability is a question. He had some injuries in college that kept him out of games. Also never had a full workload in college due to style of offense. Can he play with nagging injuries is a question?
Overall: A prototype running back who possess all of the tools necessary to become a great back. Jonathan's running style is a cross between Emmitt Smith and Herschel Walker. If he can stay healthy and transition to the pro level he could become the most well know player in the 2008 draft. I would be surprised if his stock doesn't increase in the combine to put him into the top ten picks.
