Pros: I love Hefney because he's tough and smart. He runs to the ball and will almost always make the play. Very skilled at tackling and flowing to the ball. Playing and starting so many game at Tennessee will help him much because he has experience with that kind of talent already and should be able to transition fairly easily to the NFL where speed and size are fairly the same. Has good coverage skills and has experience at both cornerback and safety. That should help raise his stock in the draft not to mention he has a little bit of experience with punt returns. Also he rarely gets injured and shows good durability.
Cons: Of course the main concern is his size. If he doens't get bigger and stronger it doesn't matter if he played in the SEC, he's gonna get eaten up anywhere in the NFL. Occasionally he'll miss an easy tackle. Isn't really extremely dominate in a particular area of his game he doesn't really have a feature to him that really makes a scout want to say "wow".
Overall: Hefney is a tough player but he will need to get bigger. I feel that safety may the best position for him even if he is a little bit small. If he can at least get up to 190+ pounds I think he'll be pretty good. I think that Hefney was one of the most underrated player out there because of the fact that rest of the Tenenssee secondary was mostly young and experience and completely destroyed by injuries and Demetrius Morley's excuse. But near the end of the season, the secondary played much better which mostly was because of Hefney. I see him going in the 2nd to 4th round.
