Joe Flacco Scouting Report by Andy
Pros: Pinpoint accuracy, very strong arm, great pocket presence, good decision making ability when rushed, scrambles better than most guys his size.
Cons: Spent most of his time in the shotgun formation because of Delaware's offense. He will probably needed to polish his dropback footwork.
Overall: Joe should make a good QB in the NFL. His size, mobility, accuracy, and rifle arm are something that very few QB's at the college and/or professional level posses. He can scramble supringly well for a guy that is 6'6" and can also throw accurately on the run. If you think his college numbers at Delaware were good, consider this. The O-line was average at best and more importantly, his best receiver was a small, quick slot WR who would make a #3 or possibly #2 WR on any other team. The rest of the WR's at Delaware were mediocre and a number of incompletions were actually dropped passes that were right on target. The WR's at the pro level will catch those same passes. He is very calm in the pocket and makes good decisions when under pressure. Once he gets his footwork down dropping back from center, I think he will surprise a number of people. I would take him in the 2nd round right after Woodson from Kentucky. Flacco is the real deal and I will be extremely surprised if he doesn't have a long, successful career in the NFL.
Joe Flacco Scouting Report by Alex
Pros: He has great size, standing at 6'6. He's also got an amazing arm. For example, he threw a ball 74 yards in the college skills competition recently. His speed is better than people think. In comparison to other top QB's in this year's class, he's pretty quick. Fairly accurate as well.
Cons: The one big knock against him is the level of competition he played against. I know I said he's fairly moblie compared to other QB's in this year's draft. And he is. But, he isn't exactly a mobile quarterback.
Overall: I really like the kid. He's got the physical tools you look for in a QB; size, arm strength, and accuracy. He has the potential to be a very good NFL starter for years to come. Will probably be selected in the 3rd round.
Joe Flacco Scouting Report by Ray
Pros: Great size with a very strong arm. Extremely accurate passer who makes quick decisions. Not a running threat but enough mobility to elude pass rushers. No character issues whatsoever.
Cons: Inferior competition makes it tough to gauge how he projects to the NFL level.
Overall: Has all the physical and mental tools to end up becoming a steal in the draft. Perfect option for a team that doesn't have an immediate need for a QB, so they can groom him for a few years.
Joe Flacco Scouting Report by draftUnder
Pros: Great Presence in the Pocket, Ability to elude defenders with his mechanics. NFL Size proves to be in his favor.
Cons: Division I-AA Competition is questionable to scouts, Not very mobile but has shown he can be. His Overall NFL IQ and adaptablity to the next stage might be a risk.
Overall: His Size and Presence are a big plus in his favor, Don't be surprised to see him bumping further up in the draft as April draws closer, PREDICTION: Early 4th Rounder
Joe Flacco Scouting Report by Andrew L.
Pros: Rocket arm and accurate to boot.
Cons: Yeah, he plays at a 1-AA school. His speed is also a question mark.
Overall: I had the fortune of seeing Joe Flacco in person. He carved up the opposition on a regular basis. However, he had a good O-line and a solid ground game. Flacco may never be a stud, but right now he can be a team's #2. 3-4th round. Good fits: Panters, Saints, Jags, Broncos
