Pros: This top prospect from Virginia continues to move up the board as we inch closer to the draft. This 2009 NFL draft is loaded with the hybrid "End/OLB's" but Sintim played in the 3-4 system in college and has an advantage when it comes to blitzing without your hand on the ground. Clint Sintim plays alot faster than his 40 time. He played all the 3-4 linebacker positions in college and really shined at UV after Chris Long was drafted in 2008. I believe he can start at the outside or inside linebacker position in the 3-4. I see this prospect really shining with the New England Patriots and the defense they run. Sintim impressed everyone that seen him perform linebacker drills and is very "sneaky" fast.
Cons: Might struggle staying with NFL caliber tight-ends in coverage. Although, he can play inside in the 3-4 it will hurt Clint Sintim as a player because your taking away his best attribute and that is blitzing. He lays a lick when tackling but can improve tackling technique. A little stiff in the hips. He will not be as impressive in the 4-3 and will only be used as a situational pass rusher.
Overall: Overall Virginia's Clint Sintim should catch on very quickly as a rookie if he is drafted by a 3-4 scheme defense. He has the perfect built to play outside linebacker in the 3-4 and has a quick first step to the quarterback. Will become much improved in coverage as he grows in his career as an NFL player.
NFL PLAYER COMPARED TO: Lamarr Woodley of the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, Sintim has much more experience standing up going into the NFL then Woodley did. He should be drafted a little higher than Woodley.
