Chad Henne
Scouting Report by Mostly |
Pros: Henne Has good size, has been relatively injury free though he has played four years. Great arm strength, can make all the throws, and had the luxury of playing with Avant, Breaton, Braylon Edwards, and future picks Arrington and Manningham. Great leadership, has played through injury. He is very poised and confident as well, dispite another review Chad always played well in big games. Check his Rosebowl stats his freshman year, and his numbers in his first three OSU games.
Cons: His deep ball tends to sail somewhat. He isn't very mobile. More importantly, has a slight hitch in his wind up. Henne will throw the bone headed interception every so often, and looks like a fish out of water when the pocket collapses.
Overall: With a premium on qb's Henne will get his shot. Henne is a third round selection. He became the forgotten mad after the terrible season the Wolverines had. Scouts rave about Matt Ryan, Brohm and Woodson. I think Woodson the class of this class, and Henne is second. However, I think the combine may hurt his stock. His numbers were hurt by his senior year injuries. However, he is a strong leader, with arm strength, and he is battle tested. It is also worth a mention that GM's know Tom Brady went 16-0 this year, and Todd Collins lead the flounder Redskins to the playoffs. Having Michigan QB's doing so well, may make someone reach for Henne higher than we anticipate.

Pros: Chad Henne's strong arm capabilites should suite him well in the NFL. His ability to find the big play receivers for long routes will attract some attention from professional scouts. He was a four year starter for Lyod Carr at Michigan and has played against physical defenses in the Big Ten Conference.
Cons: Accuracy has kept Henne from developing into a top draft pick for 2008. At Michigan, he had two talented receivers in Manningham and Arrington, but failed at times to convert drives into scores for the wolverines against mediocre defenses throughout his collegiate career. He needs to be able to read defenses better and avoid costly interceptions under duress.
Overall: Chad Henne is a bulky quarterback that won't get pushed around at the next level and showed in the Capital One Bowl game against Florida that he can keep a game close and win with talent around him. NFL scouts will be looking to draft a pocket QB that has a tough arm. With a little coaching at the next level, Henne might surprise a lot of folks with his big-play ability.

Chad Henne
Scouting Report by Matt G |
Pros: Strong Arm Strength, Field Awareness,Very Experienced, Will Take the smart sack in stead of throwing into coverage.
Cons: Is in trouble when the pocket collapses, The "Big Game" has caused problems, Not a fiery leader,No mobility, he uses his arm strength too much and tends to overthrow.
Overall: Henne has started at Michigan since the beginning of his freshman season. The term "choke artist" has been tagged yo his name as his biggest college moment was beating Penn State in the final play in 05'. Henne has too good of an arm and too much experience under his belt to not get drafted. He looks to be a second round pick now but impressing scouts at the combine will help his cause and maybe bump him into the first round. Take in account he played in a very conservative Lloyd Carr Offense.
