Pros: At 6'8", Cottam is a big target, which is an obvious plus in the red zone. He also runs a 4.68, which at 270 pounds, proves him to be athletic and to be an asset in the vertical passing game as well.
Cons: He isn't a dominant lead blocker, but that isn't the strength of his game (which primarily consists of opening up the passing game.) My biggest concern with him is his durability. He only played three games in 2007, so his ability to stay healthy is a concern.
Overall: I love his size, his athleticism, and his potential to stretch the passing game. He is an average blacker, but makes up for that aspect of his game with big play ability. I would take a chance on him in the middle of the third to the beginning of the forth, only because he had a poor year marred by injury. Other than that, he appears to be a player that could be a sleeper or a steal if he can stay injury-free.
