I have no idea who to turn to. So i turn to you all. Slaton trade...please help!
What do i do? Just got offered Slaton and Donald Brown for Mendenhall and Matt Ryan. I've always felt a little weak at RB, and am one (of fe, apparently) who thinks that slaton will still be the guy. I know he fumbled...again, but i think the message was pretty clear to him - shape up or ship out.
Slaton is a game breaker, but i'm having trouble rating Mendenhall. I know he's good, but who you would you rather have down the stretch? I have aaron rodgers, who i would start every week, so Matt ryan isn't an issue for me really. What do you do?
Here's my team:
QB Rodgers, Ryan
RB Gore, Hightower, Mendenhall, Lynch, Bell
WR C. Johnson, Bowe, Rice, Burleson, Collie, Knox
TE Daniels (I know he's out but Miller, Keller, Winslow and Fred Davis are on the wire and everyone in front of me has a TE)
D/ST Saints
K Tynes
Here's his team:
QB Manning, Orton
RB Turner, Slaton, Williams (MIA), Stewart, Brown (IND)
WR Wayne, Welker, Smith (NYG), Hester, Moore
TE Olsen, Carlson
D/ST Bears
K Carney

Not sure I would want Slaton, but its a risk you can run b/c you would really not have to play Brown much and you can start Rodgers every week (although with the O-Line he is a small injury risk) So if you think Slaton is still the guy and is going to be a game breaker (its a big risk) but make the trade, but it could blow-up in your face

I agree, this seems to be a high risk, high reward trade. I would be inclined to do it because I tend to follow Ricky Bobby's advice as far as Fantasy Football (If you're not first you're last). Slaton has a good week 15/16 schedule so if he is still the guy in Houston he could post big numbers in the playoffs, and I think Brown also has upside to come back and push for playing time. Mendenhall is also dangerous as he may be headed for a time share in Pitt.
I would go for it if I were you, but it is a risky venture.
Good Luck

Wow- hard to tell if Slaton will get his job back. All depends on what kind of game Moats has I guess. Huge risk here and not sure I like it. IMO Slaton is just being taught a lesson and will get his job back- but I've been wrong once or twice... lol
