Default Vikings Meet With Former Eagles QB McMahon

http://wcco.com/sports/local_story_081134647.html

The Minnesota Vikings met on Wednesday with free agent quarterback Mike McMahon, who was released by Philadelphia this week.

After four seasons with Detroit, starting three games in 2001 for the Lions and four games in 2002, McMahon spent last year with the Eagles under offensive coordinator Brad Childress -- who is now Minnesota's head coach.

McMahon, let go to make room for Jeff Garcia as the backup to Donovan McNabb, played in nine games for Philadelphia and went 2-5 as a starter after McNabb was out with a sports hernia. He completed 94 of 207 passes (45.4 percent) for 1,158 yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Having traded Daunte Culpepper, the Vikings are in the market for a backup to Brad Johnson. They talked with Craig Nall last week, but he signed with the Buffalo Bills.

Mcmahon sucks! Good news for all of the other teams in the NFC North. If Johnson goes down, their season is over! They do not have the defense or the run game of Chicago.

how can you say that? the guy hasnt really had too many shots. Last year, he had a mediorce receiving corps and a lot of issues went down. Priest Holmes was getting the same thoughts from chiefs fans a few years ago..that worked out well.

He had one good game against Green Bay on Thanksgiving. He has had opportunities and he blew them. Sorry but this guy sucks.

Since when do you speak for KC fans? No KC fan looked down upon Priest I can guarantee you that.

Actually, Analysts a few years ago thought of him as a decent pick up, short term. What happened

My Uncle is also a raving Chiefs fan. He said himself he expected barely anything from Priest when he was signed with KC. So yes, people have looked down on him.

When your coupled with

- Mediocre O-Line (much like minnesotas was last year)
- below average receivers
- no running game

then what do you expect? McNabb could barely get decent numbers last year even if he was injured.
