There are also reports coming out of Philly and New York that the Jets have trade a 5th round pick and a conditional draft pick (based on playing time) to the Eagles for Lito Sheppard.

Thats a good trade if its true. It isnt confirmed yet so hopefully it gets done. The Jets need another CB to play oppoiste Revis.

I wouldn't feel good about Sheppard opposite Revis. He's been an underachiever for two seasons now and really looked like he lost his confidence last year. Swagger is needed at CB and Sheppard lacks it right now. Who knows if he'll ever get it back.

Good riddance to Sheppard. I'm glad he's out of the NFC East, swagger or no swagger!

I agree. I think its a good trade though because the Jets didnt give up a ton for him. They gave up a 5th this year and a conditional pick in 2010 based on playing time and performance.

I dont think the Jets could get better value then Sheppard in the 5th round of the draft. Also I remember Sheppard's problems last year being with his contract. He was feuding with the Eagles FO and Andy all season and that led to him basically being forgotten about on that team.

I dont think the trade is bad mainly because the Jets are not giving up a lot. If the Jets do end up having to give a second round pick in 2010 (the max the pick could be) I would think Lito would have played well enough.

I agree with you that Lito has been an underachiever and needs to find his swagger again but I think the trade is a bad move on the Jets part.

Lito is a steal for a fifth round draft choice. He was injured and lost his spot to Asante Samuel. It has nothing to do with losing his swagger, how rediculous. Before his injuries he was a two time probowler.
