Default Mike Shanahan fired

This is a sad, sad day for me.

I'm very upset with this move. Not only do we have to find a new head coach with Shanahan's 3 year deal still on the books, but we now need a GM.

This was a surprise. My brother-in-law is a big Broncos fan and he's pretty upset about it too.

Fact is, Shanahan hasn't produced significant wins since Elway retired. That's what ultimately hurt him. I can understand management thinking it's time for a change.

They could definitely regret this move. A change could also pay off nicely too, depending on who they bring in.

wow this is a good off season to be looking for a Head Coach lol.

Mike Shanahan, Bill Cowher, Mike Holmgren (I know he said he was taking a year off it least but hey you never know), and Brian Billick. Plus you got your list of Coordinators and College coaches.

I dont think Denver should have made this move. Shanahan is one of the best coaches in the NFL in my opinion. But he was with the organization a long time. He had a very good run there.

Wow. I really hope the Jets end up with Cowher, but Shanahan is a nice Option B

I'm pretty sure Cowher wont be coaching in NY. He said he doesn't want to coach there.

Losing the West and maybe just the fact he's been there a while are what led to his firing. Saw something on ESPN that Shanahan wants to coach again, but he's looking at options, even mentioning college. I think Shanahan gets a job, and soon. I could see him taking over the Rams job.

I think this was a terrible move. However, there are plenty of teams that would love to have him. Personally, if I were a Cleveland fan, I'd be crossing my fingers. Cleveland could solve their Coach & GM spots with one hire.

He made the wild card round twice with Jake Plummer and then was in the AFC Title Game with Jake Plummer as well.

Don't forget he was the guy who targeted Jay Cutler who is going to be the best QB from that class in all likely hood.

My point is they got rid of him before he could really see what he could do with Jay Cutler at his next level. I didn't like the move.

Mike Shanahan the GM is who got Mike Shanahn the GM fired. The Broncos needed a new GM badly it jst sucks for them that they had to fire a very good coach as well to get a new GM. I have a couple of friends that are Broncos fans and they are happy with the move. IMO Shanahan sits out 2009, and is the coach of the Dallas Cowboys in 2010.
