I'm not a huge Russ Grimm fan. I dont really have anything bad to say about him but he was the favorite to be the Steelers next HC and lost out on that job to Mike Tomlin who apparently blew the Steelers away with his interview.

Grimm has never been a coordinator. He has been an Offensive Line coach for the Cardinals and Steelers and was the assistant Head Coach with the Cards. I dont know what an assistant Head coach actually does but I would guess its basically helping out in all areas along with the Head Coach.

I dont know I think I would it least like to have somebody who has it least been a Coordinator at the NFL level. I'm pushing for Rex Ryan now lol. I've jumped off the Spags band wagon again because I simply cant make up my mind. I'm actually not against Brian Schottenheimer as a fall back option either.

Mike Singletary was never a coordinator and looks like he's done a fine job. Being a coordinator is overrated as a requirement to be a head coach. Tomlin was a coordinator for one season. That's not enough to make any sort of difference.

actually he was the coordinator this year for the 9ers until Nolan was fired, but I agree with you. I don't believe you need to be a coordinator first, I believe John Harbaugh was not one in Philli (or if he was one, it was STs maybe) and Sparano was not one in Dallas either.

I think he'll be a good fit there. He and Rob Ryan will get the defense turned around in my opinion.

Offensively they have pieces in place. They have talent at receiver and a franchise quarterback and left tackle.

They'll trade Kellen Winslow probably from what I read so they'll get rid of a locker room problem.

Really if the Browns can pickup a good running back in free agency or maybe the 2nd round of the draft, they could be an improving team fast. Not like Miami, but I could see them being respectable and in time good again.

As for the Jets

Hire Rex Ryan.

He's your only hope IMO.

I just thought of this right now: The Madden Curse lives on

And it looks like Schotty and Callahan and Westhoff will all keep their jobs. If Rex wants that then that is fine but he should be given the choice to hire his own coaches or it least sit down with Mr.T and discuss who they want. Maybe they have though.
