Ugh. I really wanted Cowher. I have no clue who I want now. Kev you brought up a good point before about Spagnolo running a 4-3 and how we just brought in all this personnel for the 3-4. If we switch back there will be a transition period. And we should ask New Orleans about re-acquiring Vilma lol

How about Rex Ryan? I think he'd be a good fit as the Jets head coach. He's got great experience running the 3-4 with Baltimore.

I would be ok with that, but I think I remember reading that the Jets want someone with HC experience
Edit: Right after I posted this I went on espn.com and saw the article saying the Jets had inquired about Ryan.

Yeah I know lol. I believe Spagnoulo runs some 3-4 sets though. He's from the Jimmy Johnson school of Blitzing which I like a lot. The Jets have pass rushing LB's. They were just misused in my opinion. I agree though I wouldnt want to switch back to the 4-3. Hopefully the Saints resign Vilma so the thrid rounder we got from them turns into a second.
I like Ryan as well. I dont think Shanahan is a good fit here.

Random things that ran through my head:
-I'm really starting to become enamored with Rex Ryan as the Jets next coach. The more I think about it, the more it seems to fit. Plus who knows maybe he'll bring along Bart Scott or Ray Lewis (free agents)
-Why isnt Russ Grimm getting any love? I'm assuming he would still like to be a head coach somewhere, and I personally think he's a great fit in Cleveland

Couldnt agree more, Man-gina just flat out blew it this year. I mean, the guy had no guts at all. Sumtimes you just gotta go for things, try and make it happen, but there was so many times I'd watch the Jets and the moves they made in games and say wow what a pussy of a coaching staff. It was hard to watch, the guy just had no balls, period. Sorry about my terms, but it's something I feel strongly about. You need a coach with guts... too bad we didn't go get a guy like Mike Tomlin a few years ago. Man-gina definitely should have been fired though.

I'm starting to warm up to Rex Ryan as well. I would love to see him bring in a guy like Ray Lewis to play 3-4 ILB with Harris. Not because Ray Lewis is a big name and because I think he is a great player. But because he could bring fire to this defense which is something I think they lacked all season long. He wouldnt have to play at an all pro level. He would just have to play well and be a leader. Help give this defense an identity.

Well IMO i think its Favre who got Mangini fired, Favre down the stretch was the "Mike Sherman, uncoached version" of Favre I've see nall to much. (and to any Packer Fan who was still holding on to the we should kept Brett crap, I think you see now what the right decision was)
Mangini getting fired makes sense, his team collapsed down the stretch when expectations for that team were sky high, Granted I think those expectations were way to high. Mangini is/will be a very good head coach in this league IMO, he is just young and learning on the job, if he does end up in Cleveland and they can stick with hi ma few years I think Cleveland is the winner in that deal.
IMO the next coach of the Jets will be Spagnolo
