Default Plaxico

Alright everybody knows the story of what happened with him, Pierce, and Ahmad Bradshaw in a night club. The Giants have to get rid of him even if he isnt looking at jail time (which he is). I like Plaxico the player. On Sundays he shows up doesnt bitch and complain when he doesnt get the ball like a lot of other WR's do in the NFL. He cares about winning and helping the team win.

But off the field the guy has become a problem. The Giants let him slide on a lot of things like missing meetings and things like that but he has pushed the envelope to far. He shot himself with a gun he didnt have a license for and took that gun across state lines. He not only endangered himself but he endangered the people around him. The Giants have to kick him to the curb.

Maybe they will cut him. He will get off and go to somebody elses team. Who cares. Get him out of here. I think most Giant fans agree with me. Now even though Plaxico's numbers are down this year he does command double teams which definitley helps the other WR's on this team but the Giants pride themselves on being a "team". They cant let this guy take other players in the locker room down that road with him.

The Giants have to set an example here and get rid of him.

What?! We don't watch the same Plaxico. That dude quits on the field. He's like Randy Moss. The offense doesn't go his way and he stops trying. Say what you will about Terrell Owens bitching off the field, when he's on the field, he's blocking and running his routes hard. I'll take a vocal player over a quitter any day.

Plax isn't a good citizen in the locker room either. He was one of the main culprits causing so much drama in the locker room before last season. Him, Tiki, Strahan and Shockey. All four couldn't keep their mouths shut.

Plax is a high quality player, but only when he's happy. He's a liability on the field, in the locker room and on the streets when he's not happy.

Personally, I question if he even cares about football any more. Again, hate Owens all you want, there's no doubt he loves playing the game and is ultra-competitive. I don't see that in Plax at all this season.

I havent seen Plax quit on the Football field. He's been banged up all year and has been seeing double teams every week and with all the weapons Eli has to throw to he doesnt get as many ball thrown his way as he has in years past. Has he quit int he past? Maybe but that hasnt been a problem at all this season. I've seen Plax make numerous down field blocks this season.

The leaders and the guys that use to cause all the drama in the Giants locker room were Strahan, Tiki, and Shockey not Plaxico.

Theres nothing wrong with being a vocal player but with TO its all about him. He is a me player. I've seen him complain when his team wins about getting the ball. Plaxico doesnt do that.

Oh that must have been a different Plax that had a war of words with Michael Strahan through the media in 2006. That must have been a different Plax who several teammates criticized for his lack of effort in his first three seasons with the team, including Strahan and Tiki.

Sorry, there are so many Plaxico's in the league.

As far as quitting this season, go watch the game against the 49ers. He got called for pass interference and tanked the rest of the game. Coughlin got all over him about it. Plax is a problem on and off the field. He's just like Randy Moss.

Moss showed signs of quitting on the season himself this year, but Cassell's emergence has helped him recover.

Plax got 4 games, so he'll be back for playoffs as long as Goodell doesn't hit him for more.

I said this season......

Had a war of words with Strahan? Yeah I remember that. Thats one incident. Anybody who watches the Giants knows that the 3 guys that team revolved around were Tiki, Shockey, and Strahan. Not Plaxico Burress.

Oh you must mean the same teamates who have told the media all year this season that just because he isnt getting the ball that doesnt mean he is taking plays off.

Your looking at stats and basing those numbers off of weather or not a player is trying or not. Plax doesnt play in the middle of the field. He runs deep routes. He doesnt go across the middle. He gets double teamed a lot which makes average players like Toomer, Smith, Boss, and Hixon look a lot better then they are. And when teams try to play him one on one he burns them. Go rewatch the Packer-Giant NFC Championship game if you forgot.

The Giants also suspended Plax for the remainder of the season and it looks like his Giant career is over. Good job by the Giants.

those players have all played well without him in. In fact Hixon plays his best when Plax is out.

And I'm not looking at stats. I haven't spouted off any stats whatsoever. The dude quits on the field. Read the New Jersey Record. A columnist there wrote about it earlier this season.

Watch the San Fran game like I said. Things didn't go his way and he quit. Plain and simple. He's a liability both on and off the field. The sad part is the Giants are winning and he's still unhappy.

You cant believe everything you read though. For every bad article about him there is a good one.

I'll give you the San Fran game because while I dont know if he quit out there I do remember him and Coughlin screaming at each other on the sidelines during that game. However Plaxico being unhappy is false. The only thing he was unhappy about was his contract and once the Giants paid him he was fine. Plaxico hasnt once complained about getting the ball thrown his way.

Actions speak louder than words. Your defense of the guy is actually getting weaker and weaker. You're caving in on points with every post.

And if I don't have to believe everything I read, then I don't have to believe the good things too right?

He didn't quit on his team? One would argue even the off the field stuff is quitting on them.

There are sources from inside the locker room who have doubted the sincerity of Plax's hamstring injury as well.

Face it, he's a bad egg on and off the field when things aren't going his way.

If you dont have to believe the good things then you dont have to believe the bad things to right???

How are my points getting weaker? Because I admit something when I see it or look back on it? Thats called making a fair unbiased opinion. I could look back on the San Fran game and come on here with BS about it but I dont.

How is off the field stuff quitting on your team? He didnt shoot himself on the football field. He did it in a night club. He did it in front of Antonio Pierce who is the leader of that defense. Pierce is one of the leaders of that team and he doesnt have a bad thing to say about Plaxico when it comes to playing on the field the same thing goes for Eli. Pierce is on WFAN in Ny every Mondays and always defends Plaxico. Actually he doesnt really have to defend him because Plaxico's play on the football field very rarely comes up. He's not TO. He doesnt bitch and complain when he isnt invloved in the Offense. He shuts up and when he doesnt get the ball he isnt complaining. You could say its because their friends if you want but i'll take Pierce's word over somebody covering the team. I'll also take Manning's. If off the field stuff is quitting on your team then a lot of people have quit on their team over the years.

Nobody is saying that he isnt a bad egg. But he isnt a bad player on the field.
