Week 12
Through the early games
* Was that a TO sighting? I know it was against the 49ers, but if Dallas can maintain this level and be the team we all thought they were they can still sneak into the Playoffs
* What a win by the Jets. They ran the bell well, passed well, stopped the run, and played well against the pass. Great all around game. 8-3, #1 in the AFC East and 2 straight road wins over tough opponents. I'm giddy!
* Philadelphia is just free falling. They were 5-3 and playing well, looking like they had a chance in the NFC East. All of a sudden they lose to the Giants and then play 2 ugly, ugly games back to back
* Baltimore rebounds nicely, and they are still in position to be fighting for a wild card spot.

Tennessee just got outplayed today by a good football team. They're offense never really established the run and they stuggled passing the ball early on. Their defense struggled on the Jet's first drive and were kept on the field for too long. Give credit to the Jet's O-Line and running game for that.
I'd just like to note that Donovan McNabb got pulled from the game after turning the ball over 3 times. Kevn Kolb didn't seem to play much better.

Gotta give the Jets a lot of credit with the way they built this team. Kris Jenkins has been one of if not the best off season pickup. Obviously Favre as well. They run the football, they sack the QB, and they stop the run.
Favre has looked great and really has reinvented himself in these last 4 games. A lot of 2 step drops and quick passes to his Wide Outs. Dustin Keller is really starting to emerge as a real weapon at the TE spot. Favre looks Kellers way a lot on third down. He said last week he wished he had him his whole career. I like the makeup of this Jets team.
Great job by the Pats. They needed to get that win and they got it.
Giants just keep on winning. Nothing new here. Best team in the NFL. I've been saying it all season.
NyJets30 is right. Philly is free falling right now.
Great win by the Colts. You really cant leave Manning any sort of reasonable time on the clock late in games. It seems like he beats you every time.
How about Atlanta. Thats a statement game right there.

Big Win for the Jets, and its really wierd seeing optimistic Jets fans (isn't that one of the signs of the apocalypse, optimistic Jets fans?), they came in with a great game plan and exectued it to perfection, nice to see favre actually playing under control to, hopefully he can keep that up for you guys. And for Tennessee I think this loss is actually a blessing in disguise it can give them a chance to re-focus for the stretch and play-offs.
OK i am now convinced 110% that the Giants are the best team in the NFL. The go to Arizona, who is a great team at home and they beat them, w/o Brandon Jacobs and Plaxico two of their biggest offensive weapons, that D-Line seems to not have lost a step with the subtractions of Stahan and Osi, and their O is very effecient and puts points on the scoreboard, they are going to be a tough out in the play-offs.
Big win for the Vikes as well, Jacksonvlle is down this year but its still a nice road win, hopefully for them though the Williams boys can avoid suspension (i don;t see that happening with as hard a line as Godell has been taking with players and suspensions) b/c that Vikes D looks totally different with-out those two and if they lose the ability to stop the run completely like they do now it could be a long lsat 4-5 games for the Vikes. (at least they get to play detriot again though LOL)
Big bounce back win for the Pats, Cassel is the real deal at QB, i have to admit i was wrong about him, although it brings up the question is it the QB in NE or the system and the players around them?
Statement win by the Falcons for sure, and after I though this would be the year the NFC south trend of the last place team from the year before wins the division would be broken, looks like that tradition has a chance to live on this year now. The falcons have a bright future ahead of them to after this season baring major injuries, with Matt Ryan, Turner, and Roddy White all their for the next few years at least that offense could be scary good in the years to come.
Big game for the Pack tonight, its time for that secondary to really put their names on the map as an elite group if they can handle the Saints passing attack tonight, Should be alot of fun to watch regardless of the outcome.

Some more thoughts
Dallas has done a good job getting back into it. There 7-4 and i'm sure they will beat up the Seahawks to get to 8-4. So basically what I am saying is that we know they can beat up the bad teams. I still wanna see this team go on the road and win some tough games. The Redskin game was a good sign. They got some tough games coming up against the Giants, Steelers, Ravens, and Eagles. I really wanna see how they finish out the season here. Out of the Pitt, Baltimore, and Philly games I would like to see the Cowboys win 2 of them. That would sell me on them being legit "SB Contenders". Seeing as they were everybodys pick to go to Tampa in the NFC I dont think thats to much to ask.
Yeah Plugs lol. Optimistic Jet fans.....imagine that. Favre has played really well the last 4 games. I doubted the move at first but it has turned out to be a great move by Tannenbaum. He makes plays that Chad Pennington (as good as he has been in Miami) simply cant make. Tannenbaum and Mangini have done a good job building this Jets roster. The trades for Brett Favre and Kris Jenkins have been nothing short of great. They spent a lot of money on Calvin Pace, Alan Faneca, and Damien Woody and all three of these guys are having very good seasons. The signing of Tony Richardson goes under the radar because of the posistion but he has been a vital part of the Jets running attack. There drafts have been very strong as well.

Yes it was a big win because I don't think the Vikings will win many more. The only thing the Vikings have is a rush defense. Their offense looks very ordinary. Frerotte is just awful. I don't know if it was Childress' play calling or something, but in that game he looked like an awful QB. The pass defense isn't much better. Adrain Peterson did alright, but when they play teams with good defenses, he will look like just another RB because Frerotte isn't going to beat them. If the Jaguars don't hand the Vikings 5 Turnovers the Jaguars win, I guarantee it.
Go Falcons! Mike Smith for coach of the year!
Denver is awful and yet they are leading their division. That makes two.
NFC South is closing in as being the best division in football if they haven't gotten it already.
Detroit has two more chances to win. Against Minnesota and at Green Bay.

So much for that. Brees looked like he was facing a Pop Warner team

Well i actually kinda figured the Saints would come out like that, being their first home game in a month and the fact that a loss ofr the Saints pretty much completely eliminated them for any play-off consideration. That was a much more desperate game fro the Saints to win. the Packers are still in good shape in their division, If the get by Carolina this week (who is a completely different team on the road)

I dont see GB beating Carolina. I think they will lose and be 2 games behind the winner of the CHI-MIN game

I agree which probably means they'll win and win big. This is the type of thing they do.
By the way, I now envy Jet fans. I was able to see the last two Jet games and finally Favre looks like he has a feel for the offense and they look a lot like the Packers of last year in terms of their passing game. It may not look it, but Favre is far more important than he obviously appears to be.
