Default Week 5 thoughts

*The Bengals fight. They would have killed the Browns if Palmer had played. They gave the Giants a scare two weeks ago and frightened the Cowboys today.

*Hopefully, T.O. keeps his mouth shut. Marion Barber and Felix Jones owned the Bengals. I underestimated Jones' ability to get the corner on outside runs. He's ridiculously quick and I think I saw him finally break a tackle this week.

*Kerry Collins made plays when they really counted. I'll still stand by it. I said it right after Vince went down. Tennessee will make the Super Bowl.

*Sage Rosenfels almost made an argument to be the starter in Houston. Then he set up 14 late points for Indy and delivered the Texans another loss.

*I'm taking the Redskins more seriously than I ever thought I would this season, especially after their first game. I grade Washington ahead of the Giants. What the G-men did against Seattle was impressive, but they're still yet to really play a good team. They're still a couple more weeks away from facing a good squad too. The Skins just won at Dallas and at Philly in impressive fashion. They aren't getting the respect of being the best team in the NFC or NFL, but I think they are right now.

I'm not completely sold on the Titans. I think their defense is solid, and they have a great running game but I think they have to show more in the passing game. Collins is getting it done, but from what I've read, the Titans never should have had the chance to get those go ahead points, because of a penalty that shouldn't have been called. I'd like to see them play an explosive offense and keep up scoring. Indy might be a good game to watch, though their run defense is garbage so maybe not. Or if they do make the Super Bowl, see how they do against teams like the Giants, Cowboys, or basically anyone from the NFC East, and Carolina haha.

Baltimore is a QB away from being really good. Once Flacco develops they might be the team to beat in my opinion.

Houston is just bad. They are worse than the Jaguars at giving up late game leads. It also surprises me how the Colts have managed to win their two games. They could very easily be 0-4 right now and in fact should be. They just aren't the same team they used to be.

Now for my Jags. I don't know what to say. They've blow leads in the 4th quarter in the past 4 games. They have to find a way to hold on to these leads. Doesn't help to have two defensive starters out, but that's no excuse. Can't expect Garrard to be able to drive them down the field in under 2 minutes every game. Also the Jags run game has been awful. I think that can be put on the offensive line. They have done good in pass protection, they just can't run block anymore for some reason. Also nice to see Mike Walker have a good game.

Only 2 undefeated teams in the league speaks for the parity that's arising.
