Default A new Marshall in town

Aug 24, 2008 02:24 PM CDT
Marshall hoping to cut 3-game suspension to 1
The News
The Broncos are optimistic that receiver Brandon Marshall will have his three-game suspension cut to just two games and possibly to just one game, according to Mike Klis of the Denver Post.
Our View
Marshall’s lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, will travel to the league offices and make the case for cutting the penalty. While officially notifying Marshall of his three-game suspension by letter, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell indicated he would knock off a game if the Broncos' star receiver met two simple conditions. Condition No. 1: Marshall had to maintain regular communications with a New York-based, league-appointed counselor. Condition No. 2: Marshall essentially can't have any more run-ins with the police. The Post reports he has done both and that should get him down to two games. Steinberg hopes he can get it down to one game by demonstrating a need for lenenancy, and Goodell has compromised on such matters in the past. We'll keep you posted

Not to be picky about the post... but how is the second part of this report the Web site's view? All they did was state further facts about the situation with no opinion on the matter at all. It should all go under news. Apparently, the "media" member on this site needs to learn the difference between a story and an editorial.

Anyway, here is an opinion on Marshall.

He's been without a doubt one of the more impressive WRs I've seen in preseason games and Jay Cutler has looked very good most of the time. I don't care if he's suspended even three games, he'll still rank as a top 10 real and fantasy WR in the league.

Nah. It's in the right spot. I was just flaming on how the website you got it from wasn't really offering their view and instead listing further facts as their view.
