Farve to Jets?
What do you think of Farve going to the Jets? In my mind that would move Coles and Cotch up a notch on my list.

Everything I've heard and read points to Tamp Bay. I think the Jets are an emergency backup option in case a deal with Tamp can't be struck

I think Brett wants to go to Tampa more, but I still think the Jets will in the end offer more for him and he will be wearing green and white next year.
It would be interesting, for sure atleast gives the Jets playoff hopes.

I honestly dont know if I want him. I'm picturing the following scenario happeneing (call me a pessimist)
We give up our 1st round pick, don't make the Super Bowl, and then Favre decides he wants to retire again after this year. Now we're stuck with no QB and no 1st round pick, in arguably an even worse situation than we are now

I think Tampa Bay is more likely. He gets to play the Packers if he goes to Tampa and in the NFC, it makes the Buccs a playoff contender.
He does the same in New York, but the Buccs with Brett Favre have a better chance of beating the NFC's elite in the playoffs than the Jets do in the AFC with him at the helm.

I think anyone would give up their first round pick for Farve now. Maybe a few years ago maybe they'll give up a 2nd or 3rd and a player or two.

I guess the Jets offered a 4th rounder for him. Green Bay has asked Tampa for a 3rd rounder and another player.

So it is the Jets. I was almost asleep when I got a text alert from ESPN telling me Favre has gone to the Jets.
No longer are the Jets a true sleeper pick.

Jets give up a 4th that has a chance of being a 3rd, 2nd, or 1st. If he plays 50% of the time the pick is a 3rd. If he plays 70% of the time and the Jets make the playoffs, the pick is a 2nd. If he plays 80% of the snaps, 50% of the playoff snaps, and make the Super Bowl, the pick is a 1st.
So it's probably a 2nd or 3rd but you never know. This is a sad day for Packer fans but it's a relief that finally there is some resolution.

Wow. I'm still stunned that this actually happened. As I previously stated above, I was very iffy on giving up a 1st round pick to get him. But the fact that it was a performance based draft pick makes a huge difference. It really is a win-win for us. I am absolutely thrilled right now
