Default Shockey To Saints

The Saints finally got their man. The New York Giants traded Jeremy Shockey to the New Orleans Saints for a 2nd and 5th round pick in 09

I think the happiest guy in Nawlins is Marques Colston. Teams can't pay as much attention to him if Shockey can get back to the weapon he once was

Deuce McAllister has to be pretty happy too because Shockey will be sharing the IR headlines with him.

Personally, I think Shockey will be huge in New Orleans. Payton likes to utilize TEs with the abilities Shockey has. The way he plays the game makes him an injury issue, but there's no denying his toughness.

Wow I'm kind of shocked, no pun intended. I haven't been following much football over the summer, so I didn't know if they were talking but last I saw a while ago, was that Shockey wasn't leaving. I guess Boss's (I think that's his name) play down the stretch made Shockey expendable. Nice pick up for the Saints though if he is healthy.

I believe in 2002 Payton was the offensive coordinator in New York and Shockey had a great year that season. 74 receptions for 894 yards is what I read on nfl.com.

I really like what the Saints did this off season. They have a chance to have a very good offense and the defense with the additions of Ellis and Porter via the draft and Vilma in the middle should really make them better.

I think they're the team to beat in the NFC South and a dark horse in the NFC.

Good trade for the Saints and Giants. The Giants got a 2nd and a 5th for a guy who was becoming a real problem. It all went down hill when the Giants won the Super Bowl without him. Managment was going to make him follow all the rules now because they realized that they didnt have to have Shockey to win. That got Jeremy mad and he started to become a problem again. He also didnt like the fact that he wasnt allowed to be on the sideline during the Super Bowl.

Shockey is a pretty good Tight End. He's not great he's pretty good. He has a tendancy to drop a lot of passes and he can be a problem. I think New Orleans is a good fit for him though. All in all I think its a good trade for both.
