yea... name me a team that's won the superbowl that wasnt hot going into the playoffs... i mean the teams who win at the end of the year win in the playoffs most of the time. How about when New England won its first recent super bowl... they started the season 0-3, and finished 11-5. yea there are exceptions, like maybe denver in '98 losing the last 2, but id gaurentee 8 or 9 out of ten times the hottest team going into the playoffs makes it to or wins the superbowl. As for another comment I read, the giants dline would NOT be devastated if strahan retired. I also don't see the huge holes... I mean yes the secondary is no bright spot, but the pressure the giants generate helps it out a lot. They got younger and faster with kenny phillips who will start and will be good. Terrel Thomas has a lot of potential, we'll see how he turns out. Webster is iffy, he has moments but isnt consistant, and Ross will be great this year. He's got a yr under his belt, and I gaurentee by his 3rd yr he'll be a premier corner. Then the linebacking crew... they lost kawicka mitchell, who honestly I thought except for as a pass rusher sucked. They brought in 2 bigger linebackers in the draft who will play a little bit, and Kiwanuka probably will be goin back to d-line where he belongs. The LB core will be a little weakened, but not much, and the secondary could be even stronger than last yr. Other than that, if Eli manages the game and doesn't make mistakes like he did in the playoffs, the running game and pass rush can carry the giants. Maybe they rnt going to the superbowl, but I don't see how u can tell me that the only team to beat the patriots (possibly one of the greatest teams ever) and who should have beat them twice, isn't even in the top 6 in the league. This isn't just directed to u either, its to anyone who doens't think they are.
