Default Bengals turn down offer for Chad

The Redskins apparently offered their 2008 first-round pick and a 2009 conditional third-round pick that can escalate to a first rounder based on production.

The Bengals turned it down. Looks like he won't be traded after all.

I think thats absolutely foolish on the Bengals part. Get rid of a locker room cancer and add a 1st round and a 3rd round pick? I would have accepted that trade before the skins rep even finished his sentence

The reason they aren't considering trading him, is because if he is traded or released, he counts 8 mil off salary cap. Thats a hefty price. They'd rather just wait it out, and if he doesn't show up, it doesn't cost them a penny. From a business stand point, it makes no sense to trade Chad Johnson. Although it is a dick move on their side

It's a dick move on Johnsons part for asking to be traded. It's not like his contract is bad or that noone wants him there. He's just mad that his it's all about me tantics were criticized last year and he wants a new start. He's like a little kid. I think someone who acts like that doesn't deserve to get what he wants. I think you have to treat him like a 4th grader and not give in like Lewis is doing.

I would have accepted the trade, but I can see there point in keeping him to save money. They'd have to pay all or a big chunk of Chad's salary and the salary of another first round pick this year and possibly next year.
