Steve McNair Retires
"The news that Steve McNair decided to retire Thursday came as a little bit of a surprise. McNair announced his decision to teammates at a packed meeting prior to the Ravens' workouts Thursday morning."
Lots of conversation can come from this story
1) I think this definitely means that Baltimore takes a QB in the Draft. I doubt that Matt Ryan will fall to them, but if he does I think they'd have their card in before Goodell even finishes saying "The Baltimore Ravens are on the clock." I think Flacco/Brohm in Round 2 is a more likely scenario
2) Is Steve McNair a Hall of Famer? 4 Pro Bowls, a (co) MVP trophy, and one of only 3 players in NFL history to ever throw for 30,000 yards and run for 3,000 yards (the other 2 were Fran Tarkenton and Steve Young). I don't think he makes it in, but you can make an argument. I think if Tennessee had won that Super Bowl against the Rams he would get in. As it is I think he should be remembered for being the face of the Titans for 11 years, and for helping bring in the new breed of versatile, running ability QB's
