Pacman to Dallas?
I'm sure you have all heard the rumors. Lets talk about it.
I cant see why Dallas would do this. Well let me rephrase that. I cant see why they would try to upgrade at CB by bringing in Pacman Jones. I mean is he a good talent? You bet. But he is nothing but trouble. Could a change of scenery help? Maybe. But is Pacman the way to go in Dallas? I say no but thats just my opinion.

I've heard it might be Pacman for a late round pick. I'd say that Dallas is making an educated gamble on this. Pacman's an incredible talent, and it may be worth the risk of a 6th or 7th rounder to get that potential that he showed in college at West Virginia.

There hasn't been a lot of press in Dallas dealing with players that have had legal problems since the 90s. There is a reason for this. His name is Calvin Hill.
Hill is a former running back for the Cowboys and also the father of NBA star Grant Hill. He works for the Cowboys' organization as a consultant, who specializes in dealing with players with legal problems. He is the biggest reason Dallas takes chances on guys like Tank Johnson and Pac-man Jones.
I personally no longer worry when Dallas takes a chance on a troubled player. Hill's success rate is impressive. One of the more impressive cases he worked was Alonzo Spellman.
Spellman was a first round pick by the Bears in 1992, but eventually flunked out of the NFL because of off the field troubles caused by his bi-polar disorder. After sitting out the 1998 season, Dallas took a chance on him and reignited his career. He had 10 sacks in 2 years from the DT position for the Cowboys. Calvin Hill was given a lot of credit for keeping Spellman under control and on his medication.
After the 2000 season, Spellman signed with the Lions and away from Hill, he didn't function well. He played on five games for Detroit. He's since been in prison for a tirade he threw on a plane and, earlier this year, led police on a car chase that ended with him having three tires blown out and pepper spray being used.
I'm not saying Hill's absence is why Spellman went defunct, but he certainly was calm with Hill around and even publicly praised the program conducted by the former NFL player.
I think Dallas is getting a great deal if they give up even a 5th round pick for Jones and the only reason I feel that way is Calvin Hill. I believe Hill could possibly be the greatest influence in Pac-man's life and one he definitely needs.

This is a great deal for Dallas IMO. It kinda reminds me of Randy Moss to the Pats last year. A player with a bad rep, going to a top flight team. Most people criticized it, and look how it ended up. Now I'm not saying Pacman will have quite the impact as Moss on NE, but I really think Pacman could become a pro bowl player, and this has all the makings for him to become a star in the league (and for onfield performance, not what he does off the field).

Well I guess there is no way for Pacman to go but up. I dont personally believe that grown men need people to help them get their life in order nor should they. Thats just my own personal opinion. Is there a huge upside for Dallas? Yeah. But it also has its risk. If Dallas wants Pacman. They can have him. Of course this is all just my opinion.

I remember that time Dallas took a chance on a Wide Receiver with a troubled background and it turned out to be a pretty good gamble

If Dallas can get him for the right price, I'm all for it. I'd love to see them self-destruct! Jokes aside, someone is going to take a chance on Pacman and Jerry Jones has been know to take chances. Dallas better not outbid themselves for him though as Pacman is tainted merchandise. The Titans are crazy if they think they have any room to really bargain. Are they really going to let him rot on their payroll?

Talent or not the guy appear not to be able to stay out of trouble. I am sure he is going to suspended again for his latest incident. I am not a Cowboy fan but this guy need to be banned from the NFL.

The deal is done. Dallas sends a fourth round pick for him. As long as he's reinstated, which looks like he will be, this is a good trade for Dallas in my opinion.
There are insurances in it even if Pacman isn't reinstated. Dallas will receive compensation in next year's draft if he doesn't see the field.
