Favre was apart of some big games in the 90s as well as later in his career. However it doesnt really matter if he was in the later part of his career when he was spotty. If you go out there and take the field I dont care about how old you are. Favre was spotty in some big games and some big games he was great. He's a gunslinger thats what you get in most cases.
My point was Manning was too. Up to this point in Manning's career, He's loss more big games than Favre has. A lot more.

Manning is 10 years into his career. I'll compare Favre 10 years into his.

Manning lost to San Diego, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Miami, New York Jets, and New England twice.

Those are all playoff games.

Favre 10 years in.

Dallas three times, Denver, San Francisco,.

That's Favre 10 years into his career. Losing to Troy Aikman, Steve Young, and John Elway.

Compare that to Manning up to right now and try and make the case than Manning should be ahead of Favre if you're using the big game logic. I just don't get it. You really think Manning is going to do any better in the climax of his career? If has to, otherwise when all said and done he won't compare to Favre even in the big games.

Fair but Mannings career isnt over yet. If he wins 3 more SB's were not even having this discussion. We could bring names up from the past who were spotty early on. Elway won 2 SB's toward the end of his career. Climax or not he had some spotty games.

Yes Manning has had some games where he was bad as well and it is always acknowledged when he is brought up in a conversation. Thats what the whole New England- Colts rivalry is based on. Can Manning get past the Pats?

Favres career was great. He has his ring. However if I were going to rank him I dont think he would make my top 5 of all time. I also never said Manning would be ahead of him. I believe I said maybe.

Class of 2013 Pro Football Hall of Famer: Brett Favre.

Absolutely remarkable career for Favre. The consecutive game streak is amazing, and all those games in the snow were really cool to watch. Great career for Brett.

I can absolutely see an argument for Favre in the top 5 of all time. I personally think the top 4 (no particular order) are

Montana, Marino, Favre, Unitas.

After them I put Elway, Brady and Manning. I think we're all pretty much in agreement that those are the Top 7
