Default Jets and Faneca Agree to 4 year Deal

ESPN is reporting that the Jets and Alan Faneca have agreed to a 4 year deal worth 32 million dollars. Faneca's agent has not confirmed it but I think thats because the deal isnt finalized. However I believe its basically done and I am going under the impression that it is done.

So the Jets got Alan Faneca to help anchor their Offensive Line and brought in Kris Jenkins. This is a good day to be a Jets fan.

Although I hoped we would re-sign Faneca, it did not work out. I really hope that we address the offensive line in the remainder of free agency or the draft. If not, Ben's 102 million is going to take a beating.

The Faneca signing was pretty much the only signing in the Jets spending spree that I really liked. I don't think people realize how valuable Pete Kendall was as an anchor between Brick and Mangold. Faneca is much better than Kendall and should definitely help anchor the line.

I agree about Kendall. He was definitley the anchor of our line and a mentor to both Brick and Mangold. With him gone our O-Line definitley suffered. The Faneca signing is definitley a very good move by the Jets.

Now I dont agree with how much money the Jets spent on Calvin Pace (If the money figures are accurate) but I have been high on him.

I liked the Jenkins move because we havent had that interior lineman sense Ferguson left and D-Rob and Kimo just werent cutting it. We needed to try something new.

I am not a fan of the Bubba Franks signing because I thought and I am not certain on this but I thought he was battling injuries.

The Richardson move I love. Can never argue with getting another good blocker and helping out our running game.

I think its time to stop spending in FA now though and concentrate on the draft. The Jets are good drafters so I have faith that they can bring in some real good quality players in this draft.
