Ryan Grant ahead of Fred Taylor! Come on, I may be a Jaguars fan but have some respect. Grant isn't half of Taylor. And I love how you have Ronnie Brown that high above Willie Parker, McGahee, and Addai. Even Jamal Lewis!

I'd put Taylor ahead of Grant but not by as much as you think. Grant ran for 900+ yards in only 8 starts. That's pretty impressive. Before that the Packers couldn't get anything out of their running backs.
My list would look like this
1. Ladainian Tomlinson
2. Adrian Peterson
3. Steven Jackson
4. Brian Westbrook
5. Larry Johnson
6. Marion Barber III
7. Joseph Addai
8. Willie Parker
9. Deuce McAlister (He just needs to stay healthy)
10. Willis McGahee

Look at how many carries he gets, and look who is the Packer's QB. Teams can't stack the box to stop him, because Favre will beat them deep. Until this year Fred Taylor has been beating teams stacking up the box. May I also add that Fred Taylor shares the backfield with someone who gets almost as many carries as Grant did.
My final statement, is look at who Grant played in those 8 starts. I see two teams that were good at stopping the run. Minnesota and Dallas. In the Minnesota game, Favre was dirty throwing 3 TD's and 350 yards. I will give Grant the Cowboys game though. He does have a bright future, but he also could be another RB that the Packers pull out their rear ends. I'll take Taylor 7 out of 7 days of the week.

Yeah, I'm not seeing how Ryan Grant makes your list. Sure, he had a great year this year, but say Favre retires, Rodgers comes in, and defenses will put 8 or 9 in the box to make Rodgers beat them. Grant's now proven himself once, he just needs to keep doing it.

Ronnie Brown is in the same situation as Larry Johnson. What else do their teams have as offensive weapons? Not taking anything away from Ronnie Brown, but the offense runs through him. If he doesn't do good, the Dolphins really had no chance of winning. As the second half of the season showed. And again like my argument with Grant, looked at who he played when he had his biggest games. 100- yards games against the Jets, Raiders, Texans and Browns. Less than 100 against the Redskins, Cowboys, and Pats (all playoff teams). He had a combined 65 against the Redskins and Cowboys and 0 TDs in all three games.
I agree with Bowler as well, completely forgot about him before, but he should be up there.

First I said Fred Taylor was better but the margin your talking about is kind of ridiculous in my opinion. Taylor is a great back and I'd probably put him 11th. Couldn't decide between McGahee and Taylor but Grant isn't far behind. I think he might be 15th. Again the question is for right now.
Grant ran for 200 yards against the Seahawks who were 12th in the NFL in rush defense. Respectable enough. The game against the Vikings was actually all Grant and not so much Favre. Grant setup Favre in that game. Favre was cold in the 1st quarter. Grant had nearly 100 by the 1st half. Favre heated up in the 2nd half. In fact the 1st quarter Favre wasn't very good at all and Grant still held his own against one of the better rushing defenses in football running for like 80 yards.
Also out of the top 20 leading rushers in the NFL. The top 5 on yards per carry
1. Adrian Peterson - 5.6
2. Fred Taylor - 5.4
3. Ryan Grant - 5.1
4. Brandon Jacobs - 5.0
5. Marion Barber III/Brian Westbrook - 4.8
Grant held his own.
Bowler is also right about Portis. I'd put him 9th ahead of Deuce.
