NFC Division and playoff predictions
This is how I see things right now, but the season never fails to surprise when it comes along. Last years contenders can become pretenders (KC)and teams everyone buried from the start can come to life (SD).
NFC STANDINGS
West
Seattle
Arizona
St Louis
49ers
-In a weak division Seattle squeeks by another year. Arizona is on the rise and the Rams fall is beginning. This division sucks.
North
Minnasota
Green Bay
Detroit
Chicago
-The Vikings have done a lot to solidify their defense. While the Pack have gotten worse, their offense (if the line can hold up) is still good with Farve, Green Walker Driver...I expect one last run for Farve that falls short. The Lions are the better of the two up and comers.
East
Philly
Dallas
NYG
Washington
-Philly is still the class of this division (as much as I hate to say it) but the Cowboys and Giants are improved greatly. Washington hasn't done much. The boys look like a near playoff team on paper now, and with two first round picks that should nudge them beyond New york
South
Atlanta
Carolina
New Orleans
Tampa Bay
- This looks like a rough division to play in. Can Atlanta do it again without a legitimate target for Vick (besides the TE...) The defense is still good, and Vick is still Vick which means sometimes he'll carry the team to victories on his talent alone, and other times his inexperience and lack of touch will make the pass game flounder. Carolina looks better after being a good but injury decimated team last season. I can see them taking the division. N.O., perenial underachievers will fall short again with an up and down season. If they get some consistency they might push for a spot in the playoffs. Tampa Bay will be better, but there are problems on offense.
