Chargers move?

Earlier last year, there was talk (even on Monday Night Football) that the San Diego Chargers could soon be the team to move to Los Angeles. As the year went on, however, I heard less and less about it.

I'm just curious of there is still talk about the Chargers moving to L.A., or if that rumor has pretty much fallen by the wayside and/or been discredited. Does anyone know?

I have not heard a single thing about that. I think that came up when the chargers were doing really bad and hadnt had a winning season in a while.

I think Arizona is gong to move to LA.. I don't think they'll win even with the roster they got now. Fans will get frustrated and stop coming.. though not sure if they came anyways..

acconartist - No, that came up at the beginning of last year. Some of the speculation was due to problems with the people running the city getting into legal trouble, and whether or not this would affect them getting a new stadium.

Trust me. They won't care. I've got two friends who live in Arizona, and they both say people are more interested in their HOCKEY TEAM (in the desert?) than they are with the Cardinals. Basically, if the Arizona Cardinals fell off the face of the Earth, you'd probably be able to count on your fingers the number of people in Phoenix who'd give a damn.

Normally I would agree with you but you dont go out and build a $450 million on a state of the art stadium to move the team. They arent going anywhere for quite sometime now.

Rumours about that have been circulating about that since Ryan Leaf turned out to become a flop. The games dont sell enough tickets, and the city (for complicated reasons), as well as the Chargers are losing money. The Chargers claim that they will not move if they get a new stadium. The city has often turned down the offers since the Chargers will not put up enough money, according to the city. However, on a less recent (like January) chargers.com article, the Chargers are asking the taxpayers to pay a mere $10 extra for one year to finance the city's share, but the vote to allow it will not show up on the docket untill November, at the earliest.

I'm with the Swami on this one. They get a new place to play & move...the desert birds will be around for quite some time. They have a good thing going...not sure what they'll do when Warner is done. Get a line and they're on their way.
