Default What upgrades should be made

Hey guys,

I would just like some feedback on what improvements should be made for next year.

Here is a list of things that top my list:

1. Make inputting the players faster ( the script that grey's out picked players is too slow).
2. Make it the full 7 rounds. (I know most of you will not be interested in this, but for the few that are, I think it would be very cool)
3. Since it is more than 3 rounds, kickers and punters need to be included.
4. Bigger prizes for more contestants. ( I need to find sponsors, heh).

Let me know how you feel about these improvements and any ideas that you may have to make the Challenge better!

Thanks!
Ryan

I might be a little nit picky with this, but being nit picky is how you make sure that the product you offer is the best.

There were only a couple, but still there some players left off the player list that figured into the 3 rounds. Zak DeOssie comes to mine immediately. I know that's not anything to do with an upgrade or interface, but if you're going to 7 rounds then it makes it even more important to have every possible player available in the drag down list. I think an alternative to this would be to allow users to just simply write in the name of the player/position/school.

The compensatory picks were never added to the 3rd round of the interface.

I know many of us had a similar complaint of the system locking picks early. I know I wanted to make some changes Saturday morning after seeing some last second rumors come across the wire. I was denied that ability, as were many others. It would've made a big difference in my results in the competition.

Regardless, this is still the best kept interactive draft site on the net. You do a great job rkrause.

I really only have 2 suggestions.

One is to make the deadline for changes something like 11:59 AM EST on draft day. I was going to make changes, like cubuffs said, and I couldn't.

Another is to somehow get points for the right pick, right team, just different position. Best example is of Reggie Nelson to Jacksonville. A lot of people had him going to Jacksonville at 17. They should be given points for that even though J-ville traded down 4 spots and made the same pick.

Cool, thanks for the advice. I will definitely change the deadline for when the system closes. I would probably need at least two hours to verify that no one is able to update their draft, but that would be better than the night before.

Yeah, we need to do a better job of getting all the prospects in the system. Going to a 7 round system would force us to put more players in the drop down box. We would need to put in probably over 300 players to get good coverage of the players that get drafted. Maybe close to 400, heh.

Please be as nit picky as possible and don't worry about hurting my feelings, heh, I want to make this thing great and getting that constructive critisism is the way to get there!

Thanks guys,
Ryan

Only other thing I can think of, is maybe having a top 10 list on the side saying who is leading the challenge

Default draft challenge suggestion

It would be awesome if there is a way to sort the picks by team so we can easily reference who each team has taken already in previous rounds.

that's not a bad idea. I think it probably only benefits a handful of people who fill out many rounds of a mock draft, but it could be a pretty cool feature for them. It may also encourage more people to fill out longer drafts which would be good!

Thanks for the suggestion!
