What do you all think of my amazing mock draft? Be gentle
Team Player Description
1. San Francisco 49ers - Aaron Rogers, QB California | This is simple, the 49ers have to begin somewhere. Why not with a leader who sees the field well and can deliver the strikes anywhere on the field. San Franciso fans need only remember that \"Rome was not built in a day.\"
2. Minnesota Vikings from Miami - Derrick Johnson, LB Texas | This could be the news of the draft. Dolphins need a few things among them a SOLID running back. Enter the Vikings\' offering speedy RB Michael Bennett along with a second and fourth round pick for CB Patrick Surtain and the 2nd overall pick netting Derrick Johnson. Senario number 2 have the Vikings trading All-world WR Randy Moss for Surtain and the #2 pick in the draft. Either everybody\'s happy. It works for Minnesota because they are deep at both the receiving and running back positions. They could shore up the linebacking and secondary with a single swing. It works for the Dolphins because they could either have a proven RB instantly or with Moss instantly the best receiving group in the land with numerous other draft picks to land a top running back.
3. Cleveland Browns - Alex Smith, QB Utah | Cleveland could go several ways here, but a good young QB to help the anticipated return of Winslow\'s sophomore season could be just what the doctor ordered.
4. Chicago Bears - Mike Williams, WR USC | Lovie Smith will not pass up an opportunity to bring a Terrell Owens-type talent to the Windy City. Let\'s face it, the Bears defense is first rate but the offense is scary in a bad way. Heck, if Lovie is real smart he may even take a QB with the Bears second round selection. I would.
5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Cedric Benson, RB Texas | Benson and that other guy in the backfield. Just call them the bruise brothers.
6. Tennessee Titans - Antrel Rolle, CB Miami (FL) | Did McNair retire yet? If he did the Titans would not have to place so much emphasis on the O-line trying to protect a self destructing wonder. It has gotten to the point that when he takes any type of hit it could be his last. We love you Steve please do not beat yourself up anymore..However with their defense also hurting Antrel Rolle is a talent Jeff Fisher must take - 6\'1 202 4.4 forty, great cover guy and hitter..are you kidding me..if the Titans pass on this guy get ready to read about widespread drug use in the Nashville front office.
7. Oakland Raiders - Ronnie Brown, RB Auburn | One hole at a time.Sure another quality wideout would be great but did you see the Raiders ground game last year - probably not. That\'s because THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE! Ronnie Brown, part of Auburn\'s dynamic duo backfield (Carnell Williams) will add a much needed dimension to the Raiders offense.
8. Arizona Cardinals - Carnell Williams, RB Auburn | Mr. Carnell \"Cadillac\" Williams meet coach Dennis Green and WR Larry Fitzerald, Jr. You three should bring Arizona from the abyss of NFL obsurity to maybe a wildcard spot. I know, I know, I said it. Arizona is really not that bad of a team folks.
9. Washington Redskins - Braylon Edwards, WR Michigan | Maybe they could use a tad bit of defensive help up front..but I really believe Gibbs will tighten up the wr corps and augmet the services of Cole with the sensational rookie from Michigan...after all the Washington fans deserve a little excitement..if the owner is going to spend all that cash heck the team may as well score a few touchdowns.
10. Detroit Lions - Justin Miller, CB Clemson | They need secondary help. They could have easily went for Georgia safety Thomas Davis here. Miller will give them speed and muscle on his side of the field
11. Dallas Cowboys - Channing Crowder, LB Florida | Cowboys will more than likely try to plug some holes on the defensive side first.Crowder comes loaded with speed and an appetite for opposing ball carriers. His addition will easily make the Cowboys linebackers a feared bunch.
12. San Diego Chargers (From NYG) - Mark Clayton, WR Oklahoma | The D is fairly decent. They should add some punch to the receiving group here.
]
13. Houston Texans - Alex Barron, OT Florida State | If the Texans do not get David Carr some protection he should get down to the Houston Police Department and file a gross negilengence charge. Somebody please protect the man - have you seen him throw - I mean when he has time. Carr and WR Andre Johnson can lite it up. Barron should fit here.
14. Carolina Panthers - Heath Miller, TE Virginia | Easy pick if available. Do not know if they lose Muhammad yet, Miller is quite the pickup with or without Muhammad.
15. Kansas City Chiefs - Erasmus James, DE Wisconsin | Defense is thin in talent - sorry KC fans, but where does Dick Vermeil begin. Let\'s try and get some pass rush..maybe the corners can cover if they don\'t have to cover for a long period, say, 6 seconds.
16. New Orleans Saints - Pac-Man Jones, CB West Virginia | The Saints went back to becoming the infamous Ain\'ts last season. Defensively they were not as good as folk in the Big Easy expected. First they have to find ways to cover. Teams will have to learn to respect their secondary. If your secondary stalls your defensive engine will be found on the road dead (FORD) get it..ok bad one. Pac-Man Jones (Don\'t ask) is the real deal. This guy can flat out play the corner. His instincts and speed 4.4 makes up for his lack of size.
17. Cincinnati Bengals - Jammal Brown, OT Oklahoma | They\'ve got more than a few holes, but I\'m guessing Carson Palmer needs a bit more protection.
18. Minnesota Vikings - Carlos Rogers, CB Auburn | Assuming the blockbuster trade does happen, Minnesota\'s defense went from laughing stock of the league to \"you talking to me? material. Carlos Rogers is a player. They could also opt for Georgia safety Thomas Davis. If this power move takes place, next years NFL championship game is Minnesota vs whomever.
19. St. Louis Rams - Marcus Spears, DE LSU | Little needs help. Nuff said.
20. Dallas Cowboys (from Buf) - Anttaj Hawthorne, DT Wisconsin | Coach Parcell continues to plug the defense. This time he moves to stop the run up the middle by grabbing Anttaj (the Great Wall Of Wisconsin) Hawthorne.6-3 305!I\'m probably running away from his location.
21.Jacksonville Jaguars - Elton Brown, OG Virginia | Leftwich needs time to make it happen. Brown should at least be an inside blitz stopper.
22. Baltimore Ravens - Chris Henry, WR West Virginia | If they do not somehow end up with Randy Moss, Henry is a great pick for the Ravens and if Henry brings his attitude to Baltimore I\'m sure Ray Lewis will get him in line - fast!
23. Seattle Seahawks - Marion Barber III is a steady work horse. Look at what they guy has done at Minnesota. A sleeper for sure, but of the remaining backs is suited for the NFL speedy, powerful and durable.
24. Green Bay Packers - Charlie Frye, QB Akron | The post Bret Farve era begins. Draft the kid, groom him and wait for the great one to say his final goodbyes.
25. Denver Broncos - Thomas Davis, S Georgia | Too good to still be around. Broncos really needed one of the previous selected CB but instead will opt for a great secondary player. Eventually they will stop Payton Manning in Jan.
26. New York Jets - Marlin Jackson, CB Michigan | Either Jackson or LSU\'s Cory Webster here. Jackson is a bit faster.Should help the Jets secondary.
27. Atlanta Falcons - David Baas, OG, Michigan-I could get fooled here. Do not know if Mora Jr. will waste picks on offensive line with the great Houdini playing QB. No matter who is blocking up front Vick is running out of the pocket anyway. But if conventional wisdom holds Baas is as good as any here.
28. San Diego Chargers - Kevin Burnett, LB Tennessee | Be careful these guys are getting better real fast..Things keep shaping up and you could see them in Foxboro maybe...ok I'm getting ahead of myself a bit.
2
9. Indianapolis Colts - Corey Webster, CB LSU | Dungy is going to have to get back to what got him to the league - reputation for being a defensive coach, i.e Tampa Bay days...
30. Pittsburgh Steelers - Craphonso Thorpe, WR Florida St. | They may lose a reciever to free agency. Simple solution - plug the hole with the speedy blur from Florida State...This guy can make it happen
31. Philadelphia Eagles - Maurice Clarrett, RB Ohio State | Although most think the Eagles will go after another WR..I think they go after a possession RB to help Westbrook. Westbrook runs out of gas often because he runs a lot of pass routes. They need a \"real\" running back that other teams respect on the ground.Clarrett is big, strong, deceptively fast. Shucks he could be the NFL\'s new \"bus\".
32. New England Patriots - Brodney Pool, S Oklahoma | Ok champs..you have a WR playing in the secondary. I know, I know, it worked this year. But think of poor Troy Brown, this two way stunt is killing the guy\'s offensive stats -- come on Bill, have a heart.
