Default Theories on the future of quarterbacking in MN?

I'm stumped. Without going crazy on pick-trading scenarios (we'd all like to see young in purple, i'm sure, but what are the odds?) I hope that tennessee cuts steve mcnair and we can pick him up to play for a few years and give us time to draft a project qb this year or next. after all, mcnair is only 33 and wouldn't likely have the same injury problems behind an improving offensive line.

anyone else got ideas?

Why in the world would we pick up McNair? McNair isnt the MVP he used to be, if we get another QB its going to be a young guy like Croyle or Whitehurst in the 2nd (Assuming Cutler wont be there at 17). I would be pissed if I saw either McNair or Young in purple unless that purple is Balt.

Im not sure on this but I dont think McNair has the experience in the West Coast system like Johnson does

I"m all in favor of getting a young guy. I really, REALLY hope they do. But I think BJ is going to get hurt, badly, this year. And he can only be expected to play for another season or so, given his history of neck injury and immobility. Now, I might be wrong about McNair, but I think his drop off is largely related to the level of talent on his team. I don't think he's the answer for more than 2, 3 years tops, but I think McNair could do well for a year or so after johnson gets hurt or leaves, giving a project QB one or two years to prepare. that seems more sensible than banking on a rookie or sophomore, or, even worse, Mike McMahon.

Why would we replaced one old washed QB with another one?

They better draft somebody and it better not be Cutler the combine hero.

I'd like croyle in round 2 also. quick release would be a plus in WCO and maybe our improving line could protect those knees.

Childress is quick to dismiss any interest in Vince Young and quick to admit to interest in Cutler. Smoke screen.......

WCO QB's need to be mobile. Croyle fit's the long bomb Moss offense we used to have. If you have bad knees at age 22 how long will you last in the NFL?

Elway didn't have knee problems at age 22.

Leftwitch did.
