Kevin Mawae released

The Jets have released center Kevin Mawae. I think this is a big loss. They did this to make cap room but i dont think i would have released him. He is a animal and still one of the best players in football even though he is getting older. He was also a leader in the locker room and his leadership qualities will be missed. I think a lot of teams will be interested in him.

Even though he is getting pretty old, that doesnt mean much when your a center. Also his level of play hasnt dropped much since his prime a couple years back. I would like to see him stay in the NFL also. The only thing that bothers me is that the only reson they released him was to keep pennington. its a shame i think. I have nothing against chad its just that mawae shouldnt have to suffer becuase of a player thats not guarenteed to be healty, as good as he was a couple years back, or even ready to play after missing an entire season.
