Default Will Detroit be in the Superbowl Next Year?

I think Detroit has as good as chance as anybody to be in the Superbowl next year. Detroit would be a guarentee in the Super Bowl next year if they could pick up some all-star defensive players. They have the offense but not the Defense.

Somebody right back and help me out with this subject.

I doubt they make it to the Super Bowl. Their still in need of quality starting QB. Their top 3 WR's have a combined total of 20 games played. It's a little late in the offseason to be picking up a lot a big name free agents for thier defence. The only pro bowl player left is Ty Law and they don't have the cap room to sign him.

I doubt they do that this season or next since they will have a new QB next year. If they make a run for Brees then I would call them a contender no doubt but until they solve their QB problem they are a pretender.

It's a shame because Kevin Jones, Mike and Roy Williams and even Charles Rogers have all the skill in the world to be amazing but Harrington will hurt their numbers.

Is it possible for detroit to go to the Super Bowl....... Yes. Is it probable....... absolutely not. There are a lot of things that have to go your way to win a super bowl. That is why what the Pats did is so amazing. To predict a Superbowl from a team that went 6-10 last year is unrealistic. Lets focus on a winning record, a wild card or maybe winning our division when that happens then you can start talking about Superbowls and home field advantage and stuff like that.

Harrington is unproven and as stated by porky we got kevin jones so if the pass game doesnt work out at least we got a work horse in the backfield not just him but about 3 good backs, jones, pinner, schleschinger so im sure our running game can get yards

Yea Jones is young but if you keep giving him the ball over and over again. Later in the season his body will get sore and tired. So if they were to get to the playoffs they need Joey to step up and just have an above average season with all that talent. I am sorry but I don't see it happening. If they get someone like Brees next year though then I think they will win the divison even as long as Brees isn't a one hit wonder. They have so much talent they can win now which is why they should go get a young but proven QB to help them.
