COWBOY'S NEEDS
1. PREASURE ON THE qb
2. RIGHT TACKLE
3. BIG ILB TO REPLACE DAT NYGUEN
DALLAS MUST ADDRESS THE PASS RUSH FIRST AND SECOND IN THE DRAFT WITH THEIR TWO FIRST PICKS. WE CAN NOT AFFORD TO SELECT ONE AND THEN THAT GUY GETS HURT SINCE WE GOT RID OF WILEY. IN THE SECOND ROUND I WOULD GRAB A COVER SAFETY.
11.MERRIMAN DE-OLB
20. JASON TUCK DE-OLB
42. BULLOCK, SAFETY
IF CHANNING CROWDER IS AROUND AT 42 HE WILL BE A STEAL.

Tuck won't go out 20. David Pollack will.

TUCK IS 261LBS. AND RUNS 4.54 IN THE 40 HE IS RIGHT BEHIND MERRIMAN IN EXPLOSIVENESS. POLLACK IS GOOD BUT HE WON'T BE ABLE TO GET THE SAME PREASURE IN THE PROS THAT HE DID IN COLLEGE WITH A 4.76, 40 TIME. DALLAS HAS TO CONTEND WITH McNABB ,VICK, AND DELHOMME SO WE NEED TO GET TO THE QB AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. WE NEED TO GET DWIGHT FREENEY TYPE SPEED.

Why do some people have Dallas taking two of the same kind of player. Why take Merriman (a LB/DE "tweener) then take Tuck, who is pretty much the same thing, just a little less talented. It doesn't make sense. If defense is the concentration, Spears and Merriman (or Tuck, or Ware . . . .) would be better. That way we have a big pass rushing linebacker for the 3-4 (if Dallas goes that way) with the big DE necessary to play a 3-4. If Dallas stays in a 4-3, we would still end up with a big strongside LB who can move to DE on passing downs along with a strong, run stuffing DE who can rotate into the interior line on passing downs, replacing Ferguson. Can someonce tell me the fault with that?

An explosive WR likely won't be available - with Minnesota, Washington, SD and Carolina ahead of us, likely the best will be gone. Roddy White would be a stretch at No. 20, but if he falls to the 2nd round (which I doubt) he would abe a great pick.

No recievers but our defensive front 7 is likely to be the best in the NFC if not hte NFL

It may be a stretch to say our defensive front 7 will be the best in the NFC and maybe the NFL - I do agree we should have a very nice upgrade, and with a little time . . . . MAYBE they reach something near that caliber. If Ware is the real deal, the potential could be very big. Remember, Canty may not payoff until 2006 or 2007 (after healing from injuries, bulking up a little and gaining some NFL experience). Burnett also has some health concerns. If all these folks end up healthy, the future could be very bright.
I knew a top receiver wouldn't be possible with us concentrating on defense (which I believe was the right thing to do), but I am disappointed we didn't get a middle round WR with speed and upside. Our WR is adequate, but no one to stretch the field and loosen up defenses for the running game, and no one to give us hope for life after our aging, and sometimes injury prone, older verteren WR's.
We probably also didn't adequately address safety, but with the upgrade in the DL and at LB, QB's may have less time to look downfield . . . .
