Default VIKES TO MAKE A SERIOUS SUPER BOWL RUN

Minnesota's defense is shaping up to be fantastic -- heaven help the league if they sign Darius at SS...Keep in mind that the offense avg 25 ppg without Moss last year --Feedback.....what does everyone think on Minnesota's chances...

I don't want to get too excited yet. We're certainly better but we need a linebacker or two.

I went to the first Viking game in`61, and missed only handfull of games since. Trust me, when I tell you that over the years I have seen it all with this team. We are now in the best of times! Trades and free agency have set the stage to mold a great viking team, BUT ONLY IF the team stays focused on defense. ( the exception to this being, K mike nugent ). We do not need offense! The team only fell off about 3 points in production last year with moss on the sideline. Nugent can make up most of that drop by himself. With a healthy Birk, Rothenthall, and Kleinsaucer, the running game should right itself. Cullpepper will be his usual all pro self, hitting all of our current receivers, including a healthy Kliensaucer. If we use the 7th, 18, picks on LB, DE or S and the 49th on Nugent, we will be a POWERHOUSE.................Beleive this! Culpepper will lead the vikings to a superbowl win if a top 5 defense has his back.

yeah i think the vikes should have a really good run this season. their D is getting stacked esp w/ DJ as a possible #7 pick in da draft. now i dont think we have to use both first round picks on D, maybe 7 for DJ n 18 for either clayton or williamson. but if they do use both on D, id like to c DJ n David Pollack. That would be one hell of a defense.

Default `outside the box`

how about this?................if both edwards and williams are off the board at 7th pick, take the best defender ( johnson or merriman, etc ) and then to fill our WR needs, take matt jones at 18th. jones could also be our 3rd string QB, thus saving a roster spot for another player................then we could take the `nudge` with the 49th pick.....................does anyone know whats up with brock lesnar? its like he droped off the face of the earth.............

I don't think Matt Jones is worthy of a first ropund pick. He's never played WR, better off taking Troy Williamson or Mark Calyton which ever is left. He tried out at the combine as a TE cause that aparently thats what he wants to play. He won't be a first year impact player, what is what you want from a first round selection unless it's a QB then you hope for sucess but it usually takes a few years. He's kind of a project, has to learn a whole new position, how to run routes effectively, how to block if he wants to play TE, people been saying WR because of a his 40 times. It will be quite some time before he has any sucess if at all. Don't get me wrong i think he has a lot of potentional and is a great athlete possibly the best one in the draft, but there too many question marks with the guy. Can he learn to run routes? Can he block? Can he get open? Can he catch to ball in traffic? Will he alligator arm it if he hears a big NFL safety bearing down on him? Nobody knows. He's a late 2nd or early 3rd round pick in my opinion cause of his lack of experiance.
