I think we are kind of arguing at the same point here, and we actually kind of agree with eachother, I think thompson had another solid draft, say what you want alot of people say the draft was poor b/c no Randy Moss (who i beleive once NE was in the picture wanted to go there and would've then been unhappy in GB) and b/c thompson didn't draft "needs" BUt i think Harrell was a exellent pick the guy woulda been a top ten pick if not for the injury and with him and pickett in the middle of that D-Line with Kampman and Jenkins on the ends running the ball is going to be tough against GB. Also JAckson and Wynn the two RB;s they drafted i think fit their system well and Jackson for sure will be a great contributer this next season and if Wynn can ever get his head screwed on straight had loads of talent. I like Jones as a WR (its gonna be tough for him b/c i think alot of people are going to compare him to Randy Moss b/c people feel the packers could have got him fo ra 3rd rnd pick). And clowney i agree was a steal in rnd 5. I also like the TE Clark Harris i think he has potential at TE as well.

I hope this years draft turns out ok. In the end we have to wait a couple of years to see how it turns out. The next question is, how long does Thompson have to turn this thing around? In the old days you always talked about the 5 year plan. This will be his third season in charge. With Harlen stepping down and Jones taking over, how long will Thompson's lease be?

i kno thompson got a 5 year contract, but McCArthy only got a 3 yr deal, so if they go 8-8 or worse again this year where does that leave mcCarthy?

I think that almost no matter what they have to extend McCarthy. You can't have him going into a lame duck season next year, he will have not control over the team. The only way he doesn't get some kind of extension is if he goes 2-14.
