To answer your question no it wasn't stupid. They made a ton of cap room from that deal and it allowed them to sign, Darrin Sharper, Fred Smoot, Pat Williams. They added Troy Williamson and Nepoleam Harris from the trade. They made a trade for Sam Cowart as well. They redid Culpeppers contract and made him one of the highest paid QB's in the league. There is no way they could have made all of those moves and still kept Moss on the team. What are they missing out on by trading away Moss? Another 8-8 season?
You guys are crazy if you think the loss of one reciever is going to make the offense fall off the map. They have been one of the most dominant offenses since 1998. They actually have more depth at reciever than they did last year and in my opinion it's the best 1-5 in team history with the addition of Koren Robinson. Nate Burelson, Travis Taylor, Troy Williamson, Marcus Robinson and Koren Robinson, can you name a better 1-5 in the league? 3 of them are 1st round picks and the other two have gone for over 1,000 yards at at least one point in their careers. They still have Culpepper who doesn't tire at the end of games like McNabb and puke all over the feild. Culpepper was the main reason the team was so sucessful last year not the WR who missed 5 games and walked off the feild early vs. Washington.
Now I'll ask you a question, it's a two parter try not to get confused: Should a team pay a guy more than any other at his position if he is constantly creating turmoil in the locker room and on and off the feild? Shouldn't a team expect more from the highest paid reciever in the NFL?
