I havent heard anything official either but he is still under contract and was only suspended for a year so I would imagine he would come back

Onterrio Smith: Will be Welcomed Back by Vikings
RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Sunday, April 9, 2006

Update: Smith (drug suspension) is eligible for reinstatement by the league next month and the Vikings say they will welcome back to the team. "The way this coaching staff responds to players, this would be the right environment for him to move his career forward," owner Zygi Wilf told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "But all that's subject to his reinstatement."

Vikings cut Onterrio Smith. They better get a big back in the draft. All their running backs are little guys. Somebody like Riggs Jr. on day two wouldn't be a bad idea.

yeah, that wouldn't be a bad idea. they need someone to eat yards, especially since it looks like they're going to try and build a man-blocking line, which seems to favor a bigger back. I liked onterrio, though, so i'm a little miffed. I wonder what he did.

or maybe quinton gathner in the late rounds. if De'Arrius Howard weren't spotty on production, I think he'd be a fair gamble in the 7th too.

They better get somebody. I don't like the idea of Sauce or Richardson getting touches in short yardage situations. Taking good blockers off the line or out of the fullback position just because they are forced too is a bad idea.

Stephen Davis? Maybe he'll retire. Is Anthony Thomas sill a FA? I wouldn't mind picking him up for short yardage.

This is the origional list. I'm not sure who has been signed already other than the big names.
