Default Edgerrin James

Edgerrin James was reportedly signed by the Arizona Cardinals for a 4 year 30 million dollar contract. In your mind was it money well spent for this organization?

That's a good question.

I think the consensus answer is everyone will think he'll take a small cut and that's what I voted for but they have a great passing attack and that could easily help him there.

The line in Zona isn't near as good as Indy's.

hes going to have trouble getting through holes, that why in my opinion they should draft Winston Justice. It would make be smarter to give James the help needed, because hes not groundbreaking fast to begin with, hes just a grinder. Curtis Martin-esque.

He's known for getting 5-9yds per carry. He did have the most of those last season, and in Arizona, that could help him do better than he did in Indy. They have the same situtation with 2 excellent WRs, but need a solid QB(Cutler). Arizona would punch the ball in from the 2 with Edge, unlike Indy did too, which will also help his numbers.

I think you will see a significant dip in James's production. The Offensive Line in Indy is very underrated and if you look at the comparison from the Indy line to the Arizona line it's not even close. Sure Arizona has a great passing game, but Indy had a great passing game too, with arguably the best QB in the NFL running things. The QB situation is a little up in the air in Arizona, which doesn't bode well for a RB who will gather a lot of attention and doesn't have a great offensive line.

You saw this year how well Arizona was able to do without being able to run the ball, teams will let Arizona air it out because they won't be able to keep up with teams that way or stop anyone. Teams will load up on James and without a good offensive line he will struggle. Remember that teams this year were more worried about Manning than James so he had a lot of openings....don't expect that kind of treatment in Arizona.
