And we are "very close" to trading for Lito Sheppard, and we will most likely be signing Corey Ivy and Jim Leonhard. Wow free agent frenzy 2 years in a row for us. I cant decide if I like it or not. Who was the last team to buy a super bowl in the NFL?

The Jets overpaid for Bart Scott. With that said though I like the player and I understand why they did it. Ryan needs guys to help make the transistion from Mangini's D to his D smoother. Scott is a good addition. Scott and Harris give the Jets two very good ILB's and they have Pace on the outside. Now what Ryan needs to do is find out if Gholston is a player otherwise it is probably going to be Bryan Thomas opposite Pace. Either way I like the Jets LB's but I would like them even more if Gholston is "as advertised".

The Sheppard trade is official. WFAN reported it. Its a low risk high reward move. I like this trade for the reason that the Jets didnt give up a ton for this guy.

I would get Ivy and Leonhard signed. The Jets need another safety and even though im not a big Leonhard fan he fits what Rex Ryan wants to do for obvious reasons. Ivy would give this team a good nickel back that they have lacked since Ray Mickens.

What the Jets need to do is stay away from old aging QB's. I want nothing to do with Garcia, Kitna, etc.

Cowboys have signed LB Keith Brooking.

This is a great signing at a big need position for Dallas. Brooking is the most underrated LB of this decade. He's a tackling machine and a leader. Dallas needs both of those.

Also...

Bills sign C Geoff Hangartner
Texans sign DE Antonio Smith
Saints sign OT Jon Stinchcomb
Giants sign LB Michael Boley
49ers sign WR Brandon Jones
Redskins sign OG Derrick Dockery
Eagles re-signed OL Stacy Andrews (To play RT from what I've read).

1994 49ers, but they were already really good.

Jets signed Ravens safety Jim Leonhard to a 3 year contract.

Poeple are going to look at these three signing and say the Jets are spending to much money again in FA but the truth is when a new coach comes to a new team and wants to build his system there he needs players that can play it. Scott and Leonhard fit that bill and Leonhard and Sheppard come cheap anyway. (although I havent seen Leonhards money figures but I doubt its a huge contract and Sheppard only makes big money if he plays well which in that case he will be worth it)

Chiefs sign Bobby Engram, Monty Beisel, and Terrance Copper. Engram was a great signing for them IMO

Ravens sign LJ Smith. I'm a bit puzzled by this, now they have possibly the 2 most injury prone TE's in the league in Heap and Smith
