Default Who would you want on your team and why?

Just wanted to start a thread where people could post what players, either free agent or players known (or presumed) to be on the block, they would like to see on their team. Let's make this semi-serious so state your case why it would actually make sense as well.

Boldin is probably tops on almost any teams wish list (definitely tops on my list). IMO, his relationship with the Cards is beyond repair and they should shop him this offseason. They can get a lot for him

As for the free agents, I dont see the Jets doing much this year considering all the money they spent last year. My wish list for FA's would look like this though:

-I'd love to see Rex Ryan bring Bart Scott or Terrell Suggs with him to NY

-Kurt Warner/Jeff Garcia. I think they'd both be good stop gap solutions until we find and groom our QB of the future

-Nnamdi Asomugha/Dunta Robinson. Either of them paired with Revis would go a long way towards solving our pass defense woes

It's funny you mention Boldin because he's a guy I'd love to have. The Redskins will probably have to part ways with Randle El or pay him and to be honest, if we're paying someone, I'd rather they spend it on Boldin. Maybe package a deal with one of the younger guys we picked up last draft like Malcolm Kelly + picks.

I'd like to see the Seahawks address the depth at a lot of positions this offseason.

To do this the team has to make some cap space.

I propose
-Cut Nate Burleson
-Cut Olindo Mare
-Explore cutting Julian Peterson
-Explore re-structuring Matt Hasselbeck and Walter Jones. The team would save $12.5M against the cap after next season if they two retire. Jones is far more likely to do so than Hasselbeck. He accounts for 7.3 of that 12.5.
-Explore cutting Brian Russell
QB- Sign Chris Simms to challenge Seneca Wallace and Rookie (I like Curtis Painter a lot)
RB- Sign Brandon Jacobs (if struggling economy makes him cheap, something like Michael Turner) to go with possible Rashad Jennings, Andre Brown, or Herb McDonald selections.
WR- Sign one of Reggie Williams, Devery Henderson, Lance Moore, Michael Clayton, Malcom Floyd. Sign Darrell Jackson, Ben Obomanu.
TE- Blocker, don't care who.
T- Sign Khalif Barnes, draft Michael Oher
G- Trade for Robert Gallery. He's always had the potential, and should have been given a consistent position early. He'd make for an interesting guard next to Walt and eventually Oher. He's cheap now too, contract-wise.
C- Draft one
DT/DE- Depth, Depth, Depth
LB- Let Leroy Hill walk, or franchise and trade him (value could be low now), sign someone young and cheap, draft athletic 3-4/4-3 OLB fit in middle rounds.
S- Explore Atari Bigby, sign him for low RFA compensation if possible, force him to wear Atari on the back of his jersey.

I want to see the Seahawks shift to an athletic 3-4. I understand it will take time, and the team will have to decide if Red Bryant can play NT.

2010 will likely be the Seahawks next big year of free agent moves. They need to prepare for it, by not writing bad checks this season. Even if the team doesn't make the playoffs in '09, they'll need to tread softly in this year's field of free agents.

In short, I want something to look forward to in the future.

Some players that I'd like to see the Titans realisticly go after are Lance Moore and Kelvin Hayden. Ruvell Martin is another guy I wouldn't mind. Guys like Anquan Boldin, TJ Houshmandzadeh, and Nnamdi Asomaugha won't be possibilities for Tennessee.

The one thing I'd really like though is to resign Albert Haynesworth.

If only this happens it would be a successful offseason for the Hawks

What Minnesota needs to do.

First and foremost, find a plan at QB. Kurt Warner, Kerry Collins, and Donovan McNabb are not real options, maybe inquire about McNabb, but don't bank on any these. Here are the options available:

1. Brett Favre. If he decides to come back, he'll likely be released by the Jets. This would be best case scenario, but you have to make sure his injury isn't going to be a concern going into next season.

2. Matt Cassell. This is a very unlikely case in my mind. If he gets franchised, just forget about it. That's too much to invest in a relative unknown. If he hits the open market however, he'd be a great signing.

3. Let Tarvaris Jackson compete with a Derek Anderson/Jeff Garcia/Sage Rosenfels/first day draft pick for the starting role.

After a realistic plan is in place for the QB, you can now look at the luxury options. Inquire about Boldin, but that's not very likely.

RB - Maybe a Corell Buckhalter or JJ Arrington 3rd back would be a good pickup, because Maurice Hicks was a large mistake last off season.

FB - I'd love to see us go after Leonard Weaver. I know that sounds weird, to love to go after a FB, but Naufahu Tahi hurts the team when he's on the field more than he helps.

WR - I doubt they make a big move like TJ Housh or trade for Boldin, but I wouldn't mind getting a situational guy like Reggie Williams, Jabar Gaffney, Nate Washington or Malcolm Floyd.

TE - Resign Jimmy K. Maybe inquire about Kellen Winslow Jr. but nothing really needs to be done here.

OT - No need to make a big splash just for a RT, but a Tra Thomas, Khalif Barnes or Vernon Carey makes sense. There are already rumors connecting the Vikings to Carey.

OG - No need to do anything, other than maybe draft/sign some depth

C - Either draft a Mack/Unger/Wood or sign a Jason Brown/Richie Incognito to compete with Sullivan and Cook

DE - Pretty set here, maybe add some depth.

DT - Resign Fred Evans, possibly sign a Jovan Haye or Grady Jackson in case the Williams Wall loses their case, and is suspended to start the year.

LB - Pretty set here, no need to sign anything more than depth, and resign STs stud Heath Farwell

CB - I'd love see Nnamdi Asomugha in purple, but it's not likely. We'll probably either draft one high, or add a Dunta Robinson or Jabari Greer through FA. I'd love Greer to be honest, very underrated.

S - I doubt Sharper is retained, so adding depth is a key need, and possibly a stop gap starter in case Tyrell Johnson isn't ready yet. Marlon McCree, James Sanders, or Yeremiah Bell would be my first choices.
