The Bengals have put up with a lot worse from Chris Henry. Johnson makes alot more money than Henry, and stays out of the police blotter. I'm not quite sure how the 2nd year roster bonus on Johnson's contract is structured for proration, but at the very least getting rid of Johnson would keep the Bengals at the same cap number, but more likely would actually cost them more towards the cap were they to release or trade him. Also, Johnson just turned 30, so he can try to leverage a trade by sitting out a year, but lets see what the market is like for a receiver who is 31 years old in 2009, and only will have played 5 games in 2008 (the minimum for a contract year to count in a holdout situation). Were Chad to sit out the whole year, he'd be in the same spot he was in the year before, but a year older with a depleted market, and a year off the field.
In order to persuade the Bengals to dump Chad this year, a team would have to blow the Bungles away.
When Keyshawn Johnson was traded for two firsts in 2000 he was 27 years old. He was traded to the Buccaneers after reeling off two 1,000 yard seasons with the likes of Vinny Testeverde, Glenn Foley, Ray Lucas and Rick Mirer throwing him the ball. In the 1999 season Lucas and Mirer both threw for over 1,000 yards, but the team only totaled 3,001 yards passing, of which Johnson caught 1,170.
When Joey Galloway tendered a contract by the Cowboys in 2000, effectively trading two first round picks for him, he was 28 years old, and Galloway didn't eclipse 1,000 yards again until 2005, with the Buccaneers.
Johnson plays with arguably the 3rd best QB in the NFL, unless the hyperbole machine has shoved Eli up to 3rd.
It doesn't make financial or football sense for the Bungles to cut him loose, unless over-compensated, and it doesn't make football sense for a team to mortgage their future for a 30 year old receiver who has disappeared in half his teams games for the past two seasons.

Ocho-Cinco, another player we could use in D.C.

This from ESPN Insider:
The Lions are getting closer to trading Rogers, with the Broncos, Jaguars and Jets believed to be the leading suitors for the veteran defensive end.
The latest scenario, according to several media outlets, has the Jaguars dealing DT Marcus Stroud for Rogers.
The Lions are feeling urgency to make a deal because Rogers is owed a $1 million bonus payment if he is on Detroit's roster on March 1. The Dolphins, Falcons, Saints and Buccaneers are also interested.
The Lions have apparently grown tired of Rogers' sporadic play and battles with weight. Rogers flashed his potential against the Broncos in Week 9 of last season (2.5 sacks, 66-yard interception return for a TD), but he faded as Detroit struggled down the stretch.

My guess would be if the Jets get Jenkins from they would not need Rogers anymore. I've also read that the Broncos have the most interest in acquiring him. I think they are dangling Domonique Foxworth at the Lions.

Stroud has really dropped down in terms of production. He hasn't been nearly as effective off the line as he used to be. John Henderson has been the guy out of the two who has been pro bowlish, but Stroud for some reason is known better. Stroud has also asked to be traded because of a personal issue or something. I wouldn't be unhappy if he got traded but I wouldn't be especially happy if we didn't get good value, because he still has some years left.
