Isn't the franchise tag nonnegotiable? I could be wrong. I never really looked that much into it as well.

thats what i thought too. ive heard different from others on this forum, but i heard from a number of sports writers early in the season were saying that Deon Branch would have to live with being a Patriot, cuz they would probably franchise him at the end of this season whether he liked it or not. (lmao how wrong that turned out)

I think the only thing negotiable about it is that a player can choose to hold out from his team until he is given a long term contract or is traded.

I love that signing. I wonder what they will do with Foley next year... I guess it will just be open competition between Foley and Phillips during camp.

No competition, you dont sign someone to a 6 year deal with 13 mil guarrenteed without puting him #1. He was incredible last year, most underrated player on teh entire Chargers team...not to mention that Foley himslef doubts taht he'll ever play again

The Cowboys resigned their Center Andre Gurode. He was signed to a 6 years deal. The money is undisclosed but it is believed to make him one of the highest paid centers in the league.

Packers resgined TE Donald Lee to a one year deal worth $595,000 and a "modest" signing bonus. This isn't big but it happened .

Denver retained special teamer/ reserve linebacker Louis Green for $2.5 million over 3 years.

If you only want the big ones tell me. The Cowboy's signing was on ESPNNews so I thought I'd share and then dug up some others.
